I'm working on writing 100 prompts with 100 words each. The first prompt was "Cat".

Curiosity slammed the door in disgust and walked into the kitchen. He sat down on a chair, fists clenched and brow drawn. As he crashed on the chair a surprised squeal stole through the air and a small cat jumped out of the way, to the floor. The cat gave him an irritated look and stalked halfway across the room before Curiosity stood and a strangled yell escaped his throat.

“Come 'mere you Goddamn cat! Come 'mere!”

Frightened, the cat scrambled away from Curiosity's rage. Curiosity took a knife from the table and dove toward it.

...Curiosity killed the cat.

Awww, poor cat.

Interesting challenge. (I'm doing something similar currently...) I look forward to seeing more of your results!

One critique: "Come 'mere" is generally spelled "C'mere." It's a contracted word, so I guess you could spell it however you want, but that is the way I have usually seen it spelled.

I'm confused as to why Curiosity wanted to kill the cat in the first place. Was he angry and just needed to vent? *feels uncomfortable about animal abuse* Can you somehow explain that - maybe editing it a bit so that it is still one hundred words? As of right now, it seems to be a quick scene in a larger story, so I feel like I'm missing a lot.

In any case, good luck with your challenge!

Dang, real great work. My only criticism is probably not important but... heck, I will say it anyway.

The cat gave him an irritated look and stalked halfway across the room before he stood and a strangled yell escaped his throat.

Since you have two subjects here you should make sure you specifically explain which one stalked and which stood up. Sorry if I am not making any sense. This is pretty much what I mean:

"The cat gave him and irritated look and stalked halfway across the room before Curiosity stood and a strangled..."
See what I am saying now? Ha ha. Sometimes I don't even understand myself.

I know you have to keep with the 100 words but this would probably help a lot if you are truly serious about this.

Keep up the great work,

Haha, nice... Curiosity killed the cat... It's very short, ie. not a lot to critique, but I liked it :D.

Nice job. I have a cat and I was thinking about her the whole time. I would break down and cry if somebody killed my kitty! Anyway, I liked it and keep up the good work!

This is really short, but I'll see what I can do. :P

As Curiosity crashed on the chair a surprised squeal stole through the air and a small cat jumped out of the way, to the floor.
You don't need to say "Curiosity" here. You can just say "he" and the readers will all know what you're talking about.

Frightened the cat scrambled away from Curiosity's rage.
There should be a comma after "frightened."
---------------

Other than that, there really isn't much to say because it's so short.

Are you going to be writing and posting more?

Good luck.

GryphonFledgling: Ohh, what's your challenge? Have you been posting any of it here?

I'm confused as to why Curiosity wanted to kill the cat in the first place. Was he angry and just needed to vent? *feels uncomfortable about animal abuse*

To be quite honest I didn't actually have a reason for curiosity to be angry. *shrug* I'll try to edit it so he has one though.

Trick: Thanks! I fixed that, and don't worry you made perfect sense.

Stella Thomas: Thanks :)

blacktiger3915: Hahah, I know what you mean...I would go beserk if someone hurt my dog. But thank you! :D

Azila: Thanks for the critique! I fixed the things you mentioned. Yes, I plan to anyways. 99 more prompts to go! ;)
