What extra area codes and such do you need to dial to call the United States? I looked it up online, and think that it's

00 + 1 + Area Code + Tel #

but I want to be sure before my friends and I try to call each other! Is it just the "00" that signal you're calling America? Or does the "1" have something to do with it too?

I believe you've got it right. I know that 1 is the country code for US.

That's the information I got from Sprint before I went to Italy. I've also had friends say that it worked, but I never tried because it would have cost $1.39 per minute. XD

That code is good for calling Canada, America, Jamaica and a few other countries, I think, but with most it's a different number than one. The AT&T wireless website has all the country codes in it.
Please, sit down before you fall down.
