I thought I would share a little something I poured emotion into. It is short, but when I sing it it makes me cry. Now, if you've read my introduction, you would know that I do not write lyrics usually and that I am not that good at it, but I like to write them, they give me a good feeling. So, even though I will never publish and record my own lyrics, I would like to share some with you guys just to get a feel of what it may sound like, if I ever perfect the art.
Over Rivers
Verse 1: On a one way street, through the straits of our world, one voice calls my name.
It calls to me with the sweetness of honey, and with the power of a sword.
One might say I’m crazy, and a little obscene, but I think I know just what I mean.
Chorus: Because that voice is you, calling to me. And that voice is you, that is calling to me. Through mountains, under canyons, in the storm, over rivers, I hear your name.
Verse 2: Through the death of a family, or the sorrow of a war. No one can soften my love for you. And that feeling you get, when the sun has just set, you hear me and I hear you. Well, one might say that I don’t know, and maybe I have no clue. But, when I hear you, through the chaos of life, I can hear your voice over all.
Chorus: (1 Time)
Verse 3: On that little white house, in which you dream so fair, I can sense you calling my name. And that is true so much, that you can feel it too, I am here always with you. Even though we’re far away, I can still hear you calling my name. I can say this much, after much thought, I will always love you the best. Even better than the rest.
Chorus: (2 Times)
Coda: So the next time you’re out. Think of this song. How all of the things that are wrong in the world, come to an end. And for a short period of time, you can hear a call. Your own voice returning, at last.
