Hello. That smiley is exactly how I look when I blush, which is any time...I speak to people I suppose. Anyway, I'm SilentButSure (prizes for anyone who knows which band I stole my name from ) or just Laura if you want. In fact, call me what you want, everyone else does. Um...I'm 17, doing my A Levels at boarding school. I guess I'm your average misunderstood social reject. I would post some of my writing (mainly consisting of short stories and drabbles because I am not a novel sort of girl) but I have writer's block at the moment and almost everything else is rubbish I wrote when I was fifteen. I guess that's it for now, I could go on but I won't because I would never shut up. Oh and my sister's on here but I'm not saying who she is, you'll just have to guess
Wouldn't that be cool? Well, maybe so, I might just be being a little weird. [Frowned, forgetting about her duties for a moment.]
Anyway, I'm Ginge. Ginger, Lizzy, whatever you wanna call me. Bob maybe? Okay, stop. Anyhow, I'm a greeter and if you feel you need any help to get around this place, just PM me and I'll see if I can help. Or, there are plenty of other helpful little mod elves, with the birhglty coloured names, but on a whole, everyone is pretty friendly and helpful.
Welcome! And thanks for the critique on my short story. ^_^
YWS is a great place and I think you can only benefit from being here. As for your sister...well I know it's not me and I'm pretty sure it's not Nate, or any other guy for that matter. But I'm clueless otherwise.
Thank you everyone I'm glad to see that everyone is a little bit weird because I can't be doing with normality In answer to Suzanne's question, um...I don't know really. There are genres I avoid, such as fantasy and science-fiction as I'm really not a fan of those, but I guess I just dabble around in whatever comes to mind. Except at the moment my brain seems to want to write about people with mental illnesses...very strange. Unfortunately that really requires a bit of research and I'm too lazy at the moment.
Eep! I'm late! Well anyways, Welcome to Young Writers Society!!! I'm Fire, Arris, Firearris, or whatever you want to call me! You can PM the people with the colored names, but feel free to PM me if you need anything! ^_^

Ew sports no. Haha. I am trying to go to the gym once a week though because I'm trying to get fit. Ah treadmill, you are my friend, you save me from going to run outside. Um hobbies...writing obviously, I think I might die without music, sometimes I like taking pictures and I love a good dose of stand up comedy (because laughter is the best medicine and all that). I'm not sure I could say who my favourite author is but at the moment I'm reading Irvine Welsh (author of Trainspotting) because I love the gritty realism (to the point that some of his characters say some really vulgar things) of his books. Also Renton in Trainspotting is quite possibly one of my favourite characters ever, he's proof that there's more to druggies than just drugs.
Welcome, me bonny wee dormouse. I'm reading a scottish book at the moment, can you tell?
Are you writing about people with mental illnesses? Why haven't I seen any of it? I demand to. If you can't be bothered to research, rely on your imagination, you have a good one, I know you do. Research is good, but it's much better if you just write more.
Do post some of your things. Everyone is very nice, and generally good at giving advice.
Hehehe, guess who I am...
Everywhere I go I'm asked if I think the university stifles writers. My opinion is that they don't stifle enough of them. There's many a bestseller that could have been prevented by a good teacher. ~Flannery O'Connor
Nooo found out. I thought of that film by the way, the one that My Left Foot reminded me of, it was Inside I'm Dancing. No I've not really been writing, just getting ideas but they won't come out. It's the opposite of verbal diarrhoea (verbal constipation?)...well not verbal because it's writing, not talking. Erm...scriptal constipation? I don't know. I hope you realise that by giving me the link to this website you have distracted me from my history coursework and I'm going to hand it in tomorrow looking like I've done nothing since Christmas. Darn you.
Welcome! All misunderstood rejects have a place here. And don't worry about the writer's block. Just read and review and once you hit 25 crits, join us in the chatroom. But beware, I eat children. I also have a poking stick that I am not afraid to use.
Mwahahahaha!
Please, sit down before you fall down.

Oh horrible boarding school, naturally. It's a state one so already rubbish because we don't have posh private facilities. And it's in Lincolnshire, the most boring place possibly in the whole world (although being in the epicentre of the earthquake has made it slightly more famous). Everyone knows each other here. Literally. It's very scary.
I have a Gumbie Cat in mind, her name is Jennyanydots; Her coat is one of the tabby kind, with tiger stripes and leopard spots. — T.S. Eliot, Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats
