I try so fucking hard sometimes
That I forget that I’m alive.
Standing on a ledge and down below
photographers and news reporters
flash, and oh, the wind -
I just wanted some fresh air.
Looking through the window, trembling,
I turn. It’s too warm to go back in
there and all I need
is to feel like this in privacy.
I hate the window, my reflection;
The cold, bright air is never so harsh,
So down I look, at
All the buildings and trees, but people…
I have to ignore all the people.
Standing on a ledge and there inside
are all the people I push away,
not meaning to, but
they stare at me while I get some air
And I just can’t stand the attention.
I try so fucking hard sometimes
That I forget about me.
