Secret story

I thought this might be an interesting idea to try.

First you have to post a profile of your character based roughly on the template at the bottom of this page. If you're accustomed to using the same character all the time, (you don't have to, but) try making a new one.

When we have enough people I'll PM everyone with the mission they have to accomplish and why it has to be done. Everybody will have their own individual mission.

The following is a bunch of rules and what not. They're not strict, but at least follow the jist of them.

Guidelines:
Mainly the basic rules on the storybook sticky - be nice to other people. Try to include some of your characters thoughts in your writing, that way people are less likely to misinterpret them and their reactions.
Don't tell anybody else about your mission.

Permission:
If you feel the desperate undying need to kill someone, work out a way to revive them, then ask their permission. Same thing if you decide to make someone else's character fall in love, loose a limb, turn into a duck, or anything else that will make a huge difference.

Deathright:
(Almost) everybody has the right to not be dead.
Anyone who doesn't post at least once every eight days without explanation looses this right.
(Post even if it's two lines of rubbish. This is just to avoid having characters drifting about with no writers to puppet them)
If you find out you died and want to return from the dead, be prepared to be the center of a huge plot twist.


Okay, fun part.

Character Profile -

Name: this is a minor neccesity
Age: Doesn't have to be exact, but does have to be below 110
Appearance: The more unique the appearance, the shorter the description, the better. (No brown hair allowed, unless it is styled and has at least two other colours, black or blonde with at least one other colour)
Weapon / fighting style: you know I'm going to throw in some bad guys
Likes / dislikes: the more bizarre the better.
Personality: try to avoid the whole 'brave knight who seems brave and invinsible but has a secret weakness of some girl he dated in nobleman-high-school'
History: The history doesn't have to be detailed, but the more interesting it is, the more peculiar i can make your mission


The story basically starts with a pub fight in a tavern / inn. Whoever wants to join, happens to get mixed up in or near this fight, and thrown into prison. They then have to break out of prison, and head off from there - you'll get a PM to find out how.

Name: Lex (male)
Age: Late teens, ish
Appearance: skinny, dark blue hair, black eyes, a greyish tint to his skin
Weapon / fighting style: Uses a bo-staff to fight with, quick and agile, he uses a lot of acrobatics which means if something goes wrong, it goes badly wrong.
Likes / dislikes: hates sunlight and anything bright, but likes small lights like glittering things or candles. Loves to eat ridiculous amounts of sweet things. Adores cats, thus despises dogs.
Personality: Laid back, naive, very blunt. He says what he thinks, usually without intention to flatter or (in most cases) insult.
History: Raised in a tribe that lives in caves, whilst making a living taking the sheep out to graze at night and looking after the mole farms and flocks of bats.

Sounds cool! I'll give it a try.

Name: Sak

Age: 15

Gender: Female

Appearance: Black hair with pink highlights and white tips. Pink and Black eyes. (Pink eyes with black specks) Slim yet masculine. Natural black eyeliner (born with it).

Weapon/fighting style: Two Spirit of the Wolf katanas. (They are katanas with wolf fangs on the side.)/Quick and silent.

Likes/dislikes: Wolves, Ramen, Fighting, Killing/Annoying people and pervs and cats.

Personality: Shy, skiddish, fun-loving. carefree, independant, humorous, and acts lke a wolf??

History: Left at birth raised by wolves. Sometimes help the wolves with their attacks on sheep nearby. (She keeps the sheep boy distracted.)

First, this is brilliant. If I didn't say so, I'd be shaming myself since I'm doing a similar 'I know something you don't know, and won't post it in my profile so you'll have to figure it out' type thing. Fun stuff, everyone should do it.

Next, about these missions. Will the group be splitting up and each person posting what their character does while on their mission (while avoiding saying what it is)? If not, how does the actual story-play work?

I didn't really intend for it to be one of those 'i know something you don't know' stories. It's just that I can't really decide on the missions until people post their profiles.

A mission example would be... telling X to retrieve an item that somebody lost, then telling Z to stop X from delivering a bomb - that's just an example off the top of my head.
This way X might be truthful about trying to find the item, and Z thinks this is a lie but pretends to go along in order to get to the bomb.
They would be sticking together and going to the same destination, but I'm wonderinf how the characters would react to eachother.

I do have my own guidlines and I will keep track of the story to stop the plots getting too tangled up.

Name: Bella
Age: 17
Race: Vampire/Mage
Appearance: Tall, skinny. Long black hair, with bright purple highlights. Violet eyes that turn darker/lighter depending on her mood.
Fighting/Weapons: Uses magic a lot. Tries not to use her teeth -- hates killing. Has too many daggers (one on each ankle, on each thigh, on each wrist, and randomly where they can be hidden.)
Likes/Dislikes: doesn't like killing, likes blood. Likes the dark.
Personality: Seems depressed, but few are actually close enough to her to know. She stays quiet, but can become a leader in the heat of a moment. She is loyal to her friends, and brutal to her enemies.
History: Has been wandering the planet, stuck at age 17, for nearly 93 years. She was bitten by a lustful vampire who followed her home and killed her family.

Name: Bryn
Age: 20
Appearance: About 5'6". Girly athletic body type, strawberry blonde (more strawberry) long hair, usually pulled back.
Weapon / fighting style: kickboxing, black belt karate. Weapons unnecessary.
Likes / dislikes: She dislikes boring things. Always up for excitement. Can ride horses amazingly, bareback or not...loves horses. Drives well (stick, auto, quads, etc). Hates pink. Hates bicycles. Hates onions and loves cheese.
Personality: Bryn isn't really a bad person...she just loves to have fun and finds the law way too constricting. She is always up for something dangerous. Has a way of coaxing anyone into doing anything without them knowing it.
History: She spent most of her life switching from foster home to foster home. Her mother was murdered by her stepfather when she was 6 years old, she has no idea where her father is. She accepted her fate of being a problem child around her 8th foster home and has embraced it fully.

Name: Clorescent, or Clore

Age: She looks to be about 16 or 17, but is actually about 79 years old.

Appearance: Clorescent has silver white hair and a pale complexion. Her eyes are quite large and tilt upwards in an exotic kind of way--if you were to look into them you would see a multitude of colors and probably get a headache. She's be described as 'cute'.

History: Clore is a very young goddess who enjoys living in a human form--though the choice is one she made only after being banished by the other gods.

Powers/Fighting style: She can channel enormous amounts of energy--but because she considers it more fun she is indeed bound to the mortal body she has chosen and the rules that apply to it. She cannot leave the body unless it dies, and she can only channel her energy into the powers the body would naturally have. Thus, she's really just a powerful human sorceress until the day she dies and picks a new body.

Likes / dislikes: She loves adventure, trying new things, messing with people's minds by doing unexpected things.

Personality: Clore could be described as childish. She is quiet around new people, but quickly warms up to be friendly and open. Little seems to faze her, and she always seems to find something to smile about. She enjoys attaching herself to people wit interesting lives and enjoying the thrill of living.

Hope that's okay. She's not a powerhouse, she just has an interesting story that gives her an excuse to be a little weird and reckless. PM me if it's no good.

Five people sounds like an easy number to start off with. If anyone else wants to join they can post any time. Now to work out these missions...

When are you going to send us the missions??

I apologise. My internet has been self destructing so I haven't been able to come online much. The missions have all been sent.

So here's how we kick things off.

Sak is going to go into the tavern to find warmth, and then she's going to curl up on the floor for warmth.
Bryn is completely wasted after downing her seventeenth shot of vodka, so she's going to stand on Sak, who is going to bite her.
This happens right next to Clore, and when the guards throw the three out, Bella is getting tossed too, simply for her enigmatic appearance.
Finally, they shall be arrested and kept outside next to Lex, who was a little too blunt with one of the guards.

Feel free to change any of this, so long as we still get to find all the characters.

Everybody will end up in prison, and make their way to the open road, where hopefully somebody will have a suggestion as to which direction to go.

Whoever posts the best version of the tavern brawl gets points awarded (however many I can earn before conjuring a new procrastionation technique)

Age: 24

Appearance: 6'3", jet black hair with dark/pale brown streaks through the underlayers, dark almost purple eyes

Weapon / fighting style: various daggers and blunt-headed needles; relies on pressure points, but will kill if necessary; is sly and nearly undetectable

Likes / dislikes: likes vacant, open areas, the smell of smoke/blood, and privacy (in particular); dislikes attention, and noise (in particular)

Personality: enigmatic; can be totally cool-tempered and unfazable one moment, then in a rage the next; depends on the situation

History: He keeps it to himself.

Goldie

Name: Pinkle

Age: Since it's gotta be below 110.... 100. But he doesn't look it. :)

Appearance: White hair and beard, with streaks of bygone red. A bit dwarfish in appearance, short, stocky. He moves in jigs and twitches.

Weapon / fighting style: A hammer, a cutlass, and a dagger. Likes to take people's knees out from under them, instead of killing them outright. (it turns out people have a hard time fighting without legs.)

Likes / dislikes: Cows. HATES cows. And glum-ness. Likes flowers and food.

Personality: Insanely cheerful. Knows no social barriers. Delighted in the face of chaos. Isn't afraid of good, honest labor, and thinks he's much bigger than he is.

History: Is a very strange species of man-dwarf-gnome-thingy. Doesn't really know his origin. Has traveled the world over the past 100 years, having loads of adventures. But you never know if he's telling the truth when he tells you about them. He has been cursed with optimism by a mad fairy.

Name- Johnathan McKnight

Age- 17

Appearance- Grey hair slicked back with a small ponytail, medium build with lean legs. Wears brown leather amour and has gray like eyes.

Weapon/fighting style- A swordsman who uses grace instead of power. His skill is his greatest weapon.

Likes/dislikes- He enjoys a nice cup of tea and the rain. He dislikes loud noises and heights.

Personality- Silent and distant. Has the tendency to go off into space and think.

History- Was raised by a lowly knight who was disgraced. He learned to fight and became a freelancer.
