Nate wrote:Dreamwalker ->> Now I have no idea why you repeated yourself twice and quoted yourself the second time, but saying 'Internet Explorer' does not help. There are four different versions of Internet Explorer in use right now, and believe it or not, but it does matter which version you are using. Now I am trying to help. As I have said:

Can you go here:
http://mybrowserinfo.com/

That was by accident, I think xP. I didn't notice that even happened, to be completely honest with you.

And secondly, I'm not really much of a computer techy, so I'm not quite sure what kind of internet explorer I have? xD The only thing it says is 'Windows Internet Explorer'. I didn't know of any location where I could find it, so thanks for that. I believe its this that you want? Hopefully?

Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 8.0; Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; Trident/4.0; GTB6.6; SLCC2; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; .NET CLR 3.5.30729; .NET CLR 3.0.30729; Media Center PC 6.0; .NET4.0C)

And trust me, the last thing I want to do is step on toes xP. I feel like, for some strange reason, I've been stepping on them here.

Dreamwalker, if it feels like you are stepping on toes, then it's because you were not doing what I asked. Furthermore, I asked you to copy that browser string precisely because you are not a techie. One portion of that string says 'MSIE 8.0' which tells me you are using Internet Explorer 8. Now thank you for finally getting that and copying it as it allows me to help you.

Dynamo ->> That's not a bug. That's just your internet connection having issues connecting with Google's servers.

Alright, sorry. Won't happen again.

Hi Nate.
This is a minor bug in IE 9 on Windows 7, where you can't see the space around the review teams names. I'm not allowed to download Firefox on this lapto, so I'm not sure if this is a browser problem or not. But it appears perfectly fine in Firefox on XP in my laptop.

So this isn't exactly a bug, but I was uncertain with where to post it.

The review team page's points per person breakdown is incorrect. At least on my screen, it says the teams have gained way more points than they actually have. For instance, it says that I have gained 1850 points, when I have only done eleven reviews, with no posts in the Writing Tips Forum or the Welcome Mat.

It's not really that big of a deal, but just thought I'd mention it.

Not sure if you need it, but my browser info is:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64) AppleWebKit/534.24 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/11.0.696.68 Safari/534.24

Time of Incident (include your timezone): 1322 (US Eastern; 1:22 in 12-hour time)
Browser: Google Chrome
Page You Were On: Post Preview/Edit
Describe What Happened: I was typing an enormous review (around 3k at the time) and wanted to preview, like I'd been doing all along. But when I hit preview, it took an awfully long time to load--and then didn't load at all. Chrome gave me its "could not find the web page" notice, and when I went to refresh, almost all my review information was gone. I don't know if it was my internet bugging out or what, but I had FB chat open at the same time and that didn't seem buggy. HOWEVER, closing and reopening the tab gave me back about 90% of the review...from previous history. When I try to go farther forward in history (a page or two before the problem page), though, the loading circle just keeps slowly spinning. All my other pages work fine.

Browser info:

Edit: It happened again. 1811 (6:11 PM ET). Luckily I was prepared. >>

Gladius, thank you, thank you, thank you for following the bug report guidelines! Finally someone did.

Unfortunately, there isn't much that can be done about that as it's probably internet connectivity issues. The auto-save feature already ensures that the bulk of your review will be saved (as you said, just close the tab and re-open it). Also, if you press back on your browser, everything should still be there.

Time: 11:50 pm and 10:15 or so am, EST.
Browser: Safari on a Mac
Page you were on: Post reply (lit work)
Describe what happened: I'd been working on a review for a few hours last night, and closed out of the tab, counting on Autosave (but also having a copy in a Word doc). It opened fine, but when I read the quotes I had copied from the work, the apostrophes look like this:

I%u2019m, I%u2019ve, you%u2019re

The odd part is, everything I've written (that's not copy-pasted) is just fine and has normal apostrophes. This apostrophe thing has actually happened before, when I switched from PC to Mac. The backup site went from normal apostrophes to the above. And if I dig through certain old blogs, I get the same apostrophe issue (Doesn't happen for any blogs written after the New YWS a year or two ago). But I just chalked it up to switching platforms. This review had been written completely on a Mac.

Not really a big issue, but just a bit strange.

Another odd thing is, I lost about 1,400 characters from the review. Just like Glad, it was about 90% there when I hit reply. I don't think I have any connectivity issues; there were no problems loading the page at all. However, my review was about 6,800 characters when I closed it, and dropped down to 5,400 when I opened it [or, from 1,200 words to 970].

Reading over, I'm noticing the wording "most of the review". Makes me wonder if this drop-off in count is normal?

What do you mean? Nate might be able to fix it if you can give a specific example and tell us when it happened and what internet browser you were using.
Matt.
