Brand New: Automatic Table of Contents For Chapter Stories

NOTE: I was originally calling this "Table of Contents," and it still is that, but I've changed the name to "Related Items" on the topic pages. You can find this above any topic (including this one!). I'll finish putting the finishing touches on it later, but it's mostly done now. The Problem Whenever you post chapters separately on any site, it's hard to group them together. Normally, you have to add the links to other chapters into each part by yourself. That can be bothersome. The Solution An automatic Table of Contents! Now whenever you post a new chapter, links to the other chapters will automatically be displayed as well. It took me much trial and error, but it's pretty much working now. Some Things To Keep In Mind This system ain't perfect. It's going to mess up, but I've added a few things to it so that it'll never mess up badly (for instance, it will always only display works that you wrote). That being said, you can help by doing these few things: 1. Make sure the name is the same, except for the "Part" or "Chapter" part. For instance, if Chapter 1 is "Why Monkeys Rule, Chapter 1" then Chapter 2 is best as "Why Monkeys Rule, Chapter 2." Capitalization actually doesn't matter, but punctuation and spelling does. 2. For now, it's actually not best to say "Chapter" or "Part," although it won't matter for most people. However, just saying "I, II, III" or "1, 2, 3" or "one, two, three" without the "Chapter" or "Part" will work perfectly. 3. Have a unique title. "Chapter 1" by itself is not a title. Also, the program looks over commonly used words. So if your title contains only common words, such as "Somewhere Else," (one chapter story on YWS), it won't locate the other chapters. So there you have it! An automatic table of contents!

I saw this idea use at school. This is great now I can quickly go between chapters editing just became easier cheers mate!
