It's just one more word, but already you're given us a little more of this character to hold unto. That's just my advice, flesh it out a little bit more.
As for corrections...You switch tense alot. I find the tense you used (present) very hard to work with, so you did very well, just some spots you slipped up.The boy cuts her off, "'Don't follow in my footsteps-I run into walls.'?""That's the one!" She smiles, hoping he'll go get one for her, but he just stands there, staring at her. "Umm..." she hesitates.She just stares. "Oh! Um, medium. Sorry," She hadn't noticed that he'd asked her a question until she saw him staring back at her. she mutters.
