Uh, so hey dudes! I'm Sam, and I just joined. I love blathering on about myself, so I figured this would the perfect excuse. :)

I was born not too far from where I live now, in a suburb just a little while away from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. I've lived in Florida my entire life (unfortunately), which pretty much sucks because I'm not a fan of hot weather. My family went skiing in Lake Tahoe for the past three years and I've decided that I want to live there instead of here XD. I am currently a sophomore in high school, which is alright, I guess. I'm not a huge fan of school, but I do well in it anyways, because I want to go to a good college when I graduate.

I have two obsessions: reading and writing. The first time I picked up a book, even before I could read, I'd make up stories to go with the words, and when I did learn to read, I was never without a book. That's probably the influence of my mom and my older sister, who were the same way when I was younger. I guess it's more of a passion for me than for them, because as they've gotten older they have stopped reading as much, but I never have. I've been writing ever since I was able, and I wrote my first full-fledged story when I was in something like first grade, about a girl who adopts a fox cub.

Writing is a HUGE part of my life. It always has been, but it didn't occur to me that it could be anything more than a hobby until a few years ago, and I know that I want to write books for the rest of my life. I was at sleepaway camp for a month out of the summer, and it really got to me that I didn't have much time to write. It scares me if I'm away from pencil and paper for too long. So look for my books on the BESTSELLERS shelf at Borders one day, and you'll see it there. :)

I've been running a lot lately. Since some time around Christmas, it's become a daily habit (which is definitely showing, because I couldn't run today since my ankles and shins hurt too much) and it may not be the most exciting thing at times, but it sure is addictive. There's just this endorphin high you get from it, and whenever I lock into the zone, it's like poetry: feet pounding against the pavement, arms pumping, music screaming into my ears. I don't know why I love it so much, but I'm trying out for the track team relatively soon, so wish me luck! :D

Hmm... what else? I love to read romance novels, but not the trashy kind with Fabio on the cover. I mostly read young adult books, because I can relate to them the best, but sometimes I'll read other types. I don't like any of the classic books, even though I wish I did. They're just kind of dull for me, if you know what I'm saying. I couldn't even get through Pride and Prejudice, let alone Wuthering Heights. They make my brain spin and I get headaches from reading them.

Oh, that's also something weird about me. I get headaches from boredom. If I sit somewhere for too long or if my mind starts to wander, I get headaches. It's horrible, but if I start doing something else, they usually go away. Migraines run in my family, but thankfully I've never gotten one.

That's it, I think. :D

*gasp*

Samantha, we are soul sisters!

I'm addicted to running and excercise, and I tell my friends to look for my books at Barnes and Noble in a few years. I get headaches when I'm bored. I'm not a fan of trashy romance novels either - but I like adventure stories with romance entwined.

And I love your avatar.

Although I live in a cold place and I want to move to a warmer place - probably not Florida, way too hot, but maybe like North Carolina. :D

Anyway, that settles it, we are twins separated at birth.

Jesus, man! We are soul sisters, dude. I LOVELOVELOVE adventure books with romance, but those are difficult to find because you never know if the characters in the adventure are going to fall in love. I just got finished re-reading this book called Sabriel, by Garth Nix, and if you haven't read it, YOU NEED TO. It's totally what I'm talking about, the whole adventure thing mixed in, and it's so sweet.

I love my avatar too, XD. It's been lurking on my computer for a little while, and right now is the perfect chance to use it!

I think that with the climate thing, you LOVE what you don't have. I just wish I had an excuse to wear sweatshirts and winter coats all of the time, *sigh*.

Haha, oh my god, I'm in Marine Bio right now and my teacher like randomly comes up to me and she's like, WHAT ARE YOU DOING? But thankfully, she didn't care because I was done with my work.

No way. No freaking way.

Not only do you like Sevenwaters, but you like the Abhorsen trilogy, too!

But not as much running for me, though I need to start again (maybe once I'm at school and we have this lovely low-impact track so my knees don't give out on me ;)). But omg!

What else do you read? I'm curious, now!

lol. i'm a teacher's aide this hour and i use it as an excuse to mess around on the computer.

My friend read Sabriel was addicted, which is saying something because he's a guy. He keeps telling me to read it, but I haven't yet.

So, any other hobbies besides reading, writing and running? Personally, i've just started drama at my school and i'm loving it. I love the ocean too - swimming, surfing, kayaking, boogie-boarding...i just love it all. :D

I know, I'm just amazing! :D Hmm... well, I am reading the Golden Compass series now (I'm starting The Amber Spyglass soon, and I also read this really good fantasy book a while ago called The Naming. There's a second one out as well called The Riddle, but I haven't read it. I like fantasy, and I especially like books that have faeries and vampires and werewolves and such, so Holly Black = love. I also read this other good book called City of Bones, but a lot of people said it wasn't very good. I liked it, though.

What are your favorite books? (Aside from the one's you've already mentioned.)

Hmm... other hobbies. I really love listening to music and I love swimming as well when I have the time for it. The ocean is AMAZING as well; I wish I lived closer to it, although it isn't very far, probably about twenty minutes away. I like skiing, but I can only ever do it about once a year, because my family goes to Lake Tahoe and we ski there. I'm actually not too bad at it, but once I tried snowboarding and I seriously almost got a concussion. Nobody believed me though, lol.

I'm on the computer way too much as well, haha. I like drama, but I'm not very good at it, and I like singing but I'm not any good at that either, but that doesn't stop me!

So, what should I call you, Sunshine? Just sunshine or is there something else you'd rather be called? And you too, Mesh, anything else you'd prefer to be called?

I go by Sunny on this site. :D

Ha! I have The Riddle! I actually never read The Naming ... my dad got me the second one for Christmas and so i never got to read the first book.

i like singing too. i'm in my school's show choir and we're performing the songs from "Footloose" for our spring concert. I'm so excited! That's pretty much my favorite group of songs ever!!!

You HAVE to read The Naming. It was really good the first time I read it (although, that was like a year ago, so I don't remember most of it) but I started to read it again for wont of anything else to read, and I kind of space. But yeah, it's nice and long, so it'll take up a good chunk of your time if you're interested in wasting it.

Next semester I'm going to be in chorus, which I'm kind of nervous about, because everyone tells me I'm a pretty bad singer (well, my family at least) but personally, I think I'm an amazing singer and should have eclipsed Hannah Montana in the number of sold-out shows worldwide. I should have an alter ego like her: Alice Dallas. I like it! hahahahahahah
