It is hard for me to take in the full idea of them. I think if they were bigger, I could see them as more "alive". Some seem just like pictures you decided to take and don't have a lot about them (#5,6) and even though they are good pictures I don't get a lot out of them. I liked pictures #3 and #7 the most. #3 had good focus, I liked the way how it kept on one thing, and blurred on the others, and #7 has good lighting (or shading?). Nice, either way. ^_^

1st one: Probably my least favorite of them all. It was a little too dark for me
2nd one: Loved the dry, cracked earth. Looks like it used to be the bottom of a lake/pond/river/stream/water-holding basin
3rd one: Is that a cherry? It looks almost fake, it's so quaint-looking. Very nice.
4th one: I had to look at it for a moment, but I think it's a vine attacking a wire on a fence. I like the dynamic of the struggle between nature and man.
5th one: This one was probably the most compelling. It was very dramatic. It might have been a little better if the camera was a little higher and the angle just a little lower. Of course, it gives a very forboding feeling, as though looking in despair, so it's hard to say. Either way, I like it.
6th one: I liked all of them up until this one... I just didn't get it. I'm sorry, but it was a little blurry and kind of stale. I think the flower in the back was the thing I didn't like the most.
7th one: This one is probably the most "National Geographic". I love the lighting on the Monopoly board. The stack of cards in the background. Very nice. I had to look at it for a second before I realized what it was. Is that row of hotels in the background?
8th one: I didn't really like this one either. The foreground was too busy and the background was too bleak. I might like it better, if it was just the grass against the sky... but it was okay, I guess. Just kind of bleary.
9th one: I love this picture. It's very light and warm- unlike the other photos- and it gives off a sense of well-being. A beautiful ending to a beautiful day. I miss the blue sky. I can't remember the last time I saw a blue sky.
10th and last one: Well this was an interesting end to a fascinating set of photographs. I'm not sure what those leaves are... unless they're Maple or something like that. Anyway, it might have been better if the angle was lower and to the right. The angle is everything, and it's kind of awkward from here.
Anyway, excellent job. I liked them. I just wish they were bigger, is all.
I really liked them, as simple as they are. I really like the car one, because it seems so forgot and lost (even though its on a manopoly board). I also like the close up of the cherry, it looked really cool. The first one was the one that I couldn't exactly tell what it was, if you made it a little bit brighter somehow (flash?) then that would be good. My mom wants me off the computer,so I can't write much more of a review. Sorry. Maybe you should become a photographer. Good luck.

I know you told me to review OTHER people's writing, and I HAVE been doing that, but hush up for a minute and let me review your work too. See, until now I've really only focused on your /writing/. But here's the thing: no matter what you end up doing in life, you have NO excuse to become a so-called "starving artist." YOU ARE TOO TALENTED. So your professor dreams fall through? Publish a couple volumes of poetry and some novels. No one buys your books? Start a photography business. Get bored of snapping photos?? Combine the writing AND the pictures. You've got SO much you can do. I'm completely jealous. Honestly. And if all else fails, call me up when I'm rich and famous, and we'll do some shows or something. I'll even let you play the banjo.

Individually the pictures are fairly good, the lighting could have been used more effectively but other than that they were descent. But as a whole, the subject matter ranges too much. You have a picture of barbed wire and then another with monopoly. When it was titled Orchard, I expected like gorgeous colors and variations and angles with immense vibrancy. It was depressing to see that that wasn't the case. When you submit things as a collection, like anything else, make sure that they go together. Other than that they were nice =].
