Nick Hornby

Nick Hornby has written many famous books such as 'About A Boy', 'A Long Way Down', 'Fever Pitch', 'High Fidelity' and '31 Songs'.

I've read both About A Boy and A Long Way Down. Hornby's books are amusing, witty and very 'British'.

I enjoyed both of the above stated books, however, they're not exactly amazing. I find his books 'down to Earth' but not very memorable.

Anyone else read his stuff?

I love Nick Hornby

I started to read another one of his books, something about a pizza delivery guy who was a washed out famous guy and American, or maybe I'm just compressing three characters into one. I think that was called A Long Way Down. I felt that it went too slow in the beginning; it wasn't too compelling.

I do agree that About a Boy (the only book by him that I've read) isn't too memorable. I remember that I liked it, especially the way it was written, but I don't remember the names of the characters.

LOVE them.

I remember reading about a boy, then turning telve and being all "I'm the same age as marcus now!"

I think he's a great writer, the way he cuts through to get to the important stuff is great.

I've read most of this works. About a Boy has to be my favourite, much better than the film! Along way down is also funny. Wasn't amazed by Fever Pitch... I agree that none of his books are classics, but he's one of the best in recent years in my opinion.
