Gentiana
I flew into class just in time. I felt the master's glare as I nervously settled down on an acorn next to my friend Bumblebee. Also, some of the fairies stared at me as I looked down sheepishly. The master cleared his throat and everyone snapped back into attention.
"Now, who knows what is the most important thing you need to use your magic?" he asked as he looked intently at me. Bumblebee's hand shot up and I jumped back in surprise. The master's eyes shifted to Bumble and sighed when he saw that Bumblebee was the only one with a hand raised.
Bumblebee was the smartest fairy in the class. She knew the answer to every question and was always the first on to raise her hand...or the only one. Masters adored her and unfortunately despised me. Whenever a question was asked I would make myself as invisible as possible without magic, I knew no answers to any of the questions given. If we could use magic during school, I could have escaped those confusing questions, but it was forbidden to use any magic in school unless instructed by a master to do so.
The master waited for a few seconds, waiting for another hand to be raised, but when he saw none he called on Bumblebee.
"Your glow," answered Bumblebee clearly and confidently. it was obviously right.
"Exactly-" started the master, but Bumblebee continued.
"To make your glow, you need to feel. Whatever feeling it is, it must come to you naturally for you to make the strongest glow you can make,"
"Thank you Bumblebee. You are correct. Tomorrow we will start finding the feelings that makes your glow the strongest. Since this is the last class of today, you may be dismissed early, and have in mind of which feelings you will try!" he called after the few fairies who already flew out.
"When did you learn all that?" I asked Bumblebee as we flew out of the class, side by side.
"My mother, she always wants me to know things ahead, before they even start teaching about it," she answered simply. Figures I thought. Bumblebee's mother is always teaching Bumblebee something new. Also, they were exactly alike, They had the same honey bright eyes, golden hair, and the smart looking smile they always use.
"So, are you free for the rest of the day, Gentiana?" asked Bumblebee, as she caught a leaf that was spiraling down from the tree. I smiled.
"Of course! I am always free," I answered. Bumblebee let the leaf drop as she flew ahead of me. Then she looked over her shoulder smiling back.
"Then I guess you know where to meet me," she said with a wink before flying away towards her branch.
