I think I’m ready to throw in the towel
In this hopeless race
For I know not of what will happen
I am scared of what could happen
I’m afraid I might lose
This battle that seems victor less
I’m ready to throw in the towel
For we are not going anywhere
I want to stop
I want to jump
I think I might
I look down.
It’s a nice drop.
I take a deep breath,
harnessing the courage
I feel I must jump
But something is tugging me
I look behind me to see
If he came for me
No such luck
Just the mind playing a prank.
I think I’m going to jump
Just like the Lenape girl
But I wait
I hear wind howling in protest
Then, I step.
As easy as that
Now I’m falling
but I’m falling away from the dropping feeling
I’m moving towards the good feeling
The feeling of not failing.
It is strange and foreign
But I’m happy to except it
I embrace it
I hit.
I didn’t hit rock bottom
For rock bottom was at a peak
A week and a half ago
Now I hit the bottom of happiness and bliss
For now I’m away
From the haze of rainy days
I’m throwing in the towel
For I’m now the victor in this victor less run.
Okay, what'd ya think??? It's my first to throw out into the public, and I'm I know there aren't any commas [[dodges the tomatoes being thrown from audience]] because I'm kinda confused about commas in poems...
