As you can see, I am pretty new. I come from the wonderful state of California, and have a huge interest in Writing, History, Science, and Math.

While searching for a writers forum on Google, just incase I ever tried to put the thoughts in my mind together, I stumbled upon this well made website.

If you couldn't tell from my user name, I am a big fan of the Temeraire book series. It really is a breath of fresh air when it comes to dragon books =P

So anyway, I can't wait to become an active member here =P

Hi Temeraire!
Writing and History, aye? (glares at Maths and Science)
What period of history are you specifically interested in, or is it just a general type of interest in history?

Also, what do you write, when those thoughts come together?

Oh, and welcome to YWS!

Particularly, anything from the Egyptians to early 19th century Europe =P I despise early American history for some reason though... quite boring.

When my thoughts come together, it is usually something with dragons. After reading the Temeraire series, I thought of creating my own world that would be in the technological zone of early 19th century Europe. Since dragons, dwarves and yada yada are usually portrayed in a Medieval scene, I thought it would help come over some of the clichés.

And thank you for the welcome.

*High Fives* That's awesome. I have to agree that, for some reason, early American history IS pretty dull. I love medieval stuff, along with the Egyptians and Early Europe through Modern day Europe. I've never read the Temeraire series, but I'll look into it.

I can't wait to read some of your work!

See ya 'round the site!

Hooray! Another Temeraire Fan! I'm Moo, and I'm a newbie as well, and a huge fan of Naomi Novik! Have you read Empire of Ivory yet, the 4th installment of the Temeraire series?

History and Science are my favorite subjects. I'm glad we have some stuff in common. ^ -^

Welcome to YWS!

We ought to get along well. I read the first two Temeraire books.

Writing-wise, I mostly do fantasy. I've also dabbled in realistic and science fiction. Whew... Anyway, see you around.
