Chapter 2 Angel of the Sun
He sits against the far side of the room's wall away from the window, as he always did. Normally he would be a dreary daze between being wake and asleep. But today was different. There were more noises outside the metal room than before.
"OW! Stupid bar." A female voice yelled.
Normally he would not care and just sit at the far side of the room away from the window. But because of his intense boredom he quickly rose. The chains that enwrapped him jangled. To his surprise he wobbled around. Since he did not move much he had little balance, also he was not used to this physical stain on his legs. He took a step towards the window, but he fell down. He crawled towards the wall, dragging one of his legs. He clumsily picked himself up. He leaned against the cold metal wall.
" Hello? Is anyone here?" The female voice asked.
The boy gasped. As hard as he tried he could only manage a small noise. He slowly walked to the window, while he slumped against the cold metal wall. All he could hear was his heavy breathing and the loud clanking noise of his chains.
"Is anyone here?" The female voice asked again.
The boy tried to yell back at her to let her know he was here."Eah, eah." He struggled out.
Even though he tried with all his might he could still manage was a little noise. His legs began to hurt from slowly walking against the wall towards the window. The chains seemed more heavier than usual. His heart pounded harder and harder. He couldn't believe how hard a simple short walk to the window would be. He stepped closer and closer to the window. The bright light reflecting off the floor blinded him. He quickly blocked the blinding light with his hand.
He began to have second thoughts, but he kept heading towards the window. He reached a hand towards the window's bars. As soon as he grabbed a bar he lunged foreward. Then he grabbed another bar with his other hand. He squinted his eyes as he tried to look outside.
" Hello." A woman kindly said.
The boy fully opened his eyes. In front of him pat the bars was a young woman. Somewhere in her mid-twenties, she had long curly blond hair. Hair as golden and bright as the sun that poured light into the metal room. Her eyes were a crystal sky blue, that enchanted him. Her skin looked smooth and had a lightly brown tint to it. She smelt of kitchen spices and flowers.
She gazed past the boy into the metal room.
"Gross! This room it just filthy!" She moaned.
He looked back. The room did smelled from his filth and the mold of the food he did not eat. He was shocked that he had not noticed. I guess he had become so used to this disgusting place.
He looked back at the bars. She pinched her nose with her fingers to escape the repulsive smell.
"How can you live in there?" She questioned him.
The boy still could not speak so instead he gave a light shrug.
"What kind of an answer is that!" She scolded as him.
His eyes widened. Never had anyone yelled at him. He stepped backwards, but he fell to the hard metal floor.
"Ow..." He moaned.
He slowly rubbed his head, which had just hit the floor. He felt like crawling back to the far side of the room where he always lied, safe and secure. But boredom kept him going. He Rose back up and grabbed the bars. Once again he face the woman.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to scare you." She calmly stated.
He just nodded. It didn't matter to him.
"I wasn't scare, just surprised." He thought.
Fear was just one thing he did not feel.
"How rude of me. I haven't even told yo my name yet, and here I am yelling at you." She laughed.
She reached her lightly brown tinted hand through the bars.
"My name is Beth." She informed him.
The boy stared at her hand. She had finely manicured finger nails. He looked at his nails. They were all jabbed and just plain terrible looking. His nails looked like that cause he bit his finger nails. He didn't know why he did it. He just did.
"You're suppose to shake it." She shared with him.
He raised a hand and took hers. Then they shook. There was a long silence.
"And your name is?" Beth asked.
The boy stopped breathing."M...m....my name?" He whispered.
His name, he never remembered having one and didn't bother giving himself one either. When you are truly alone with no one to call your name you don't need one." I don't have a name.
"He plainly told Beth.
Beth gave him a look of confusion.
"You don't have a name? Then how do you know who you are?" She wondered.
He just shrugged."Never came to mind."
Beth gasped."You mean all of this time in here and you didn't even bother to think of a name for yourself?!"
The boy just shrugged again."Never thought I'd need one."
Beth gasped again."Of course you need a name!" She yelled.
"Your name is the only one I know." He admitted.
"You mean I'm the only other person you know." Beth asked.
He gave a light nod. Beth reached her hand towards him. She rested her hand on his shoulder.
"I don't know why. But when I stared into her eyes with her hand on my shoulder, I just started to tear up." The boy thought.
He started to cry out. As he found the first person in his long, boring and trapped life he could cry with.
