"Stop THIEF!" The shout echoed from behind Ras as she darted out of the department store, her bag filled with video games, and other stuff she could pawn for some quick cash.

Shira, her spirit, raced beside her, and the two ran down the street. "Yeah right. Was a thief ever born that would stop running when people tell them to?"

"I doubt that."
Ras shot back. Darting down an alley way. Ras spotted a coffee shop ahead. Figuring it was a good place to hide Ras pulled her hood up and was just about to leave the alley when Shira froze.

Impatiently Ras jogged in place, "Come on Shira. Let's go before we get caught." Shira glanced to both ends of the alley, back the way they had come shouting was getting louder as their pursurers got closer, a police siren blared in the distance. Ahead was relative safety, if Ras could just get to her cousins dorm room where she was bunking on campus they'ld be home free.

"It might be wiser to let them catch us you know." Shira told her, rubbing her arms she was on edge.

"No way, they catch us and i'll end up back in juvie. They actually make me TALK to my parents there. No way, i'm opting for relative freedom."

Ras dashed out onto the street, she was already halfway across, Shira on her heels, when she spotted the reason Shira had been so nervous. They were a whole bunch of older kids on the street with spirits.

Glancing back over her shoulder she saw the guys that had been chasing her run past the alley. "Okay... Maybe you were right after all."

"Told you so." Shira told her smugly, as she surveyed the other kids with spirits.

Jason watched as everyone left. He was the last to leave taking a few metal notes. He motioned for the door of the coffee shop, but was stopped by Kal.

Look over there. Another girl with a spirit.

Jason looked to where Kal was pointing. She was being chased by police. He didn't know what was going on and would rather stay out of it. That was until he saw one of them start to drag her into an ally.

Cursing under his breath he jogged over to see what was happening. The girl was on the ground, three men hovering over her. Taking a quick look he realized each had a gun. Now what do I do? I can't take three of them with guns.

We could always fuse.

What?

If we fuse I can unlock your inner power. We spirits can only merge with ones with high spirit energy.

Jason glanced back at the girl, the men starting to unbutton her pants. No time to think about it, just do it!

Kal placed his hand over Jason's heart. Slowly it began to morph inside. Jason grabbed Kal's arm panting. Don't fight it.

Get it over with! He was screaming in his own mind. Thrusting forward Kal disappeared inside Jason. A bright light flashed and his appearance had changed. He looked himself over. What is this?

No time to explain, they can't see you, but you can hit them all the same.

Jason nodded and turned into the ally. He grabbed one by the shoulder and threw him back. The other two flinch. Slamming anothers face into the wall the last one began to run away, but Jason appeared in front of him and punched him in the stomach knocking him out. Amazing.

You only have so long to be this way right now so lets get out of here.

Not without her. Jason picked the girl up, she was out cold. I'll bring her to my dorm for now.
I will always fight back, no matter what.

Ras, was cold, she wasn't aware of the cold concrete, or the stuff around her. She was nine years old, and was out of Juvie for the first time. Ras was dreaming of the Earth Warden's compound. She was tied to two wooden posts, and her back was completely raw. She felt like crying from the pain and had bit her lip until it was bloody to stop herself from giving them the satisfaction of screaming. The whip cracked lashing across her back again and her body arched in pain.

Glaring Ras, watched her parents, and two brothers, with the unblinking stare of a hunter, they didn't care about her, they'd been completley taken in by the bastards here. Finally the "temple" elders were done whipping her. The spectators slowly left the arena, as the sun set Ras was left hanging there, to let the cold night air move over her wounds. Dust blew into her her eyes, and Ras spat the blood out of her mouth. As the sun vanished below the horizon, she started to shake, praying she would pass out... before the shadows came.
---------
Consciousness returned and Ras sat up, she was in one of the college dorm rooms, though she didn't know which, it definetly wasn't her cousins room. Rubbing her head she thought back to the alley. She'd just been about to pull her knife on the thugs when they'd smashed her over the head with something that felt like a brick. After that the dream came again.

Suddenly the bathroom door opened and a boy, about four or five years older then her, walked out followed by a spirit. "Ah.. Your awake?"

Jason only half smiled when he saw the girl awake. He whipped his mouth, blood on his hand. It still hasn't stopped. Looking up again he realized the girl was a little taken back. "Don't worry, Shira's told me everything. You can relax for now." He took a seat in a chair next to the bed.

"Thank you, um..." She turned her head slightly blushing.

"Jason, Jason Roberts."

"Thank you Jason. How did you save me?"

"Apparently we can fuse with our ghosts, though mine failed to tell about one important detail." He coughed showing blood in his hand. "The fusion and diffusion as well as all our actions in between takes it's toll on the body. I remained my true self to long."

I walked along the path, alone again. Well, except for Rae behind me. She'd been irritable ever since the congregation separated. She was nervous, but I couldn't tell why.

Rae, you're making me nervous. What's wrong with you? I finally asked.

The whole atmosphere. Something's wrong. I can feel it. Something has happened...

Like?

One of them fused after we left.

I looked at her. So?

Don't you understand anything?! It could be the demons! It could be -

Just him protecting someone. But I'm missing your point.

He stayed fused too long. His body has been affected.

I rolled my eyes. I don't know why you're so damn superstitious or omniscient, whichever it is. How do you figure these things out?
She shrugged as we continued to walk. It's just us. I can't explain it.

I then realized it. That wasn't all that was wrong...What if she was right? What if it was time to fight? What if the demons really were coming?

Would it really happen so soon?

*Just trying to stay active, sorry...*

Mime-

I stood for a moment as they all seemed to break apart at my approach. I turned to Raime.

What now?

He shrugged and turned in a full circle. Follow her, he said, pointing down the street to the disappearing form of one of the young girls.

Why?

I want to meet her spirit. You could use some social contact, too, Mr. Social.

I groaned. I'm not going to hear the end of it if i don't talk to her, am I?

He grinned. Nope

I sighed and started to walk after the girl and her spirit.

Rae twitched.

I sighed. "What now?"

Who's following us?

For once, she got me to stop and look over my shoulder. There, as she had said, was one of the boys and his spirit following us. That spirit sure looked smug...why?

"Um...hi," I said, unsure what these two were up to.

Back at the dorm, Ras was talking to Jason about what had happened, with all the spirits meeting up, and what the the meeting would be like. Just then Anna, Ras' cousin came barging into the room. Jason jerked up right before settling down when he saw Ras knew the other girl.

"How'd you know where I was Anna? What don't tell me you actually listened to the nutballs about putting a tracker on me!?"

"I didn't need to I was at the store when you were. Honestly i've got half a mind to send you back to your parents."

Ras shot to her feet, glaring at Anna, "You try and send me back to the veg-heads and i'll run away again, and this time I won't come back."

Anna whirled around and marched out the door again. "FINE see if I care."

Ras rubbed her forehead before glancing sheepishly at Jason. "Sorry you had to see that my family and I have... issues."

Jason gave a half baked smile, "At least you have a family." He looked up at the door with sorrowful eyes, "My parents died three years ago, and my uncle pays for college, though I've never even met the guy."

Ras seemed to be ashamed of herself, but Jason put his hand on hers, "Don't worry about it. All that really matters is the people you do have in your life. Cherish them with all your heart."

"Thank you."

"Hey Kal?" He asked out loud so Ras could hear. "Start telling the others where to meet. Things are starting to get interesting."

I'm not your servant, but you may be right. I'll meet you at the warehouse.

"Understood." Jason looked outside as the sun began to rise again.

(I gave a time lapse, but you can post starting earlier as long as we all end up in the same place.)

Mime-

The girl turned to us. "Um...hi."

I waved sheepishly and turned quickly to Raime.

You talk to them. Following was your idea. I said accusingly.

He shrugged and smiled at the girl.

Hello, He said, so that we could all hear him. Sorry we were following you. I just wanted to meet your spirit. Mime here, he gestured to me, wanted to meet you. I guess i forgot to mention to him that there were others with spirits, like yourself. He was curious

I nodded reluctantly.

I concealed my smile well. Rae snickered beside me.

You're pretty daring, Mime and Raime. Rae spoke before I could stop her.

"Don't mind Rae," I finally smiled at Mime. "She's just touchy."

TOUCHY?!?

"Shut up, idget!"

She scowled at me, turning her back to me. I could tell that Mime and Raime were a little surprised by our behavior. "Don't worry; we're not like this all the time. We just annoy each other occassionally, which I'm sure you can understand."

Was I breaking the ice?

Raime snickered beside me. I never annoy Mime

Are you kidding? I demanded, glaring at him. The girl and her spirit snickered.

I slapped my hand to my forehead, shaking my head slowly.

Raime smiled and turned to the girl's spirit. Hi, I'm Raime.

I said nothing. Mime's don't usually talk a lot.

Rae looked over her shoulder once. Rae. Nice to meet you. She turned back around, pouting worse than a five-year-old.

"I'm Adri," I extended my right hand to Mime as a sign of friendship.

Kimmy shifted her weight as she started out the window in her apartment.

We have a visitor, Kimmy. Senna said from behind her. She spun around and saw Jason's spirit,

There is a were house where Jason wants everyone to meet. I have told Senna how to get there. He said before he disappeared. Kimmy turned back to the window and bit her lip.

We are going, right? Senna asked standing next to her.

You wouldn't leave me alone if I didn't, would you?

I never said that, but it would do you some good, course any of them are men to you, I'll deal with them

Fine, we better get a move on it then.
