Ooooo friendly were cats. I already like this! I like your history and character descriptions here, but my suggestion would be to put all of this into a prologue. Usually, if you have a history to explain in a fantasy novel and you don't want to take the time to explain it in the actual story, you put it in a prologue. Anyways, I love the names of your characters and I can't wait to see them all in action.

Also, it would be best not to tell us all the characters right off the bat, because it ruins your element of surprise. Just a word of warning. :D:D:D
