Why is our baby blue?!”

Stephanie couldn’t understand it either. The stork had delivered a perfectly healthy baby boy, just like they had ordered, but he was blue! Who ever heard of a blue baby?

“And did you hear?!” her husband, Roy, continued to shout. “The Stevens got a girl that was pink!”

“Dear, most babies are pink,” Stephanie replied reasonably.

“Bright fluorescent pink?! I don’t think so!” Stephanie had to agree with that, as she looked to the blue sky with its fluffy white clouds. Things sure had been strange lately. At first, it had seemed that Storks, Inc. had just been ignoring orders, but then a huge amount of babies had started to come in. The only thing was… they were blue and pink, that is, blue boys and pink girls. Race did not matter, only the gender it seemed. However, other than the unusual coloring the babies were fine. They looked like their parents, were healthy, and were not defective, except for coloring.

When the babies first started to come in, people sent complaints to Storks, Inc. but no one ever got a response back. And this just wasn’t in their area, in was affecting the whole world.

It’s like we are getting babies from a different dimension, Stephanie thought. If only she knew how close to the truth she was.

Why is our baby black?!"

Roy couldn’t understand it either. The stork had delivered a perfectly healthy baby boy, just like they had ordered, but he was black! Who ever heard of a black baby?

“And did you hear?!” his wife, Stephanie, continued to shout. “The Stevens got a girl that was white!”

“Dear, some girls are so light that they appear white,” Roy replied reasonably.

“Sky white?! I don’t think so!” Roy had to agree with that, as he looked to the white sky with its fluffy blue clouds. Things sure had been strange lately. At first, it had seemed that Storks, Inc. had just been ignoring orders, but then a huge a huge amount of babies had started to come in. The only thing was… they were white and black and a multitude of different colors, with no regard to gender. It did not matter, only the race it seemed.

It’s like we are getting babies from a different dimension, Roy thought. If only he knew how close to the truth he was.

What are we going to do?!” the Head Stork cried in despair. “All of the babies are going to the wrong dimensions! We are getting so many complaints that we have a whole department full! I repeat again, gentlemen, what are we going to do?!”

For a while the room was silent. Then one stork offered a suggestion.

“Why don’t we at least explain the situation? I’m sure the people will understand…”

“Understand!?” the Head Stork yelled incredulously, flapping his wings for emphasis. “Understand?! What do you want us to do?! Do we just tell them, ‘Sorry, we gave you your real babies’ counterparts from a different dimension and I know that they look different, but we don’t have a return policy so you are stuck with those babies.’ That’s just nonsense!”

“Nevertheless, Head Stork,” the Second Stork remarked. “That may be what we have to do. We can fix it and start sending the right babies now, but the ones that were already sent have to stay where they are.”

“I know,” the Head Stork replied wearily, putting his head in his wings. “I know. I am just dreading the outrage that will follow. But enough of that!” He jolted out of his seat. “We must fix the problem and get ready to announce it to both dimensions.” And with that, all of the storks left the room in a flurry of feathers.

-------------------

The Roys and Stephanies of both dimensions stared, astounded, at their TVs. The Head of Storks, Inc. was making an incredulous announcement.

“We of Storks, Inc. regret to announce that an error was made in the delivery of your babies. If you received one, it is the right baby. It is just from a different dimension.” Black Roy and Pink Stephanie snorted. Different dimension indeed! “We also regret to inform you that because of our no return policy you will have to keep your babies. But do not be alarmed, no further mistakes will be made.” And with that the announcement was done. Black Roy and Pink Stephanie silently raged while Blue Roy and Black Stephanie tried to put a better face on things.

“Dear,” they started calmly. “Don’t worry. It is a fine, healthy baby we have. And just think of all of the friends he will make that are the same color as he is.” Black Roy and Pink Stephanie decided to accept that and left with their spouses to take care of their new babies.

And that is the story of the delivery crisis between Dimension Earth and Dimension Htrae.

Lol, that was so funny!

“Dear, most babies are pink. Stephanie replied reasonably.

Comma instead of a full stop.

I'd nix the capitals and the excess of exclamation marks. It doesn't look neat.

WHY is our baby BLUE?!!!

Just make it:

"Why is our baby blue?"

Very funny and good idea!

HAHA!!!! This was really funny. THe one complaint I have is that there are quite a few grammatical errors throughout, which is something worth fixing. Something about the colors is confusing as well, though I think I got the general point.

I think a good edit would be good for this, as well as maybe some small revisions. Good work though. :D
