about me

I feel so concieted doing this, but it's sort of like an autobiography right?

So, I haven't really been on YWS, until recently, although I did join in July - but now I'm on it, and love it!

I'm currently writing a story, that I hope will be sort of long instead of a twenty-five pager. Well, it is already 18 pages, so yay! The last story i wrote was 110 pages, a big feat for me! And the one before that was fifteen pages. Not a very gradual expansion, huh?

I live in the U.S. but dream to live in London, England! I haven't even been there yet, but it just calls to me! I love the sophistication and accents of England!

To quote part of my story "Once I turn eighteen, I'm outta here!"


I'm really quite a dork, and sometimes painfully laugh at how dorky I can be .But, at least I have personality though!

Hi Gwen,
I'm no expert, but if you're having troubles coming up with a beginning, just skip the not really important part of the beginning, and do what you can, then go back. It might be stupid advice (i've actually never done that) but hey, if something works for you, then do it!

If you're having troubles getting the plot in order (this might sound stupid) but, I always take notes on paper, going along in the story in note format. Or taking notes on what the character is like. That way you'll have more time to think about what you want to write, and how you want to write it - instead of just putting it down and going through tedious editing.

I love that quote!

My story was about a girl who was the only one that could defeat an evil king and so she was really valuable and became powerful. When I look back at it, it seems really childish, and it was dressed up with descriptions - which is why I dropped it, and didn't end it. (Try not to do that, not a very good thing to do.) I got it to be 110 pages, because it was just long, that's it. It really seemed to be never ending - half of it was about her trying to kill the king, the other half was about her life afterwards. It was somewhat too eventful, if you get what I mean, I was trying to keep it going, and didn't know when to stop. So basically, I didn't like my story and even now I'm embarassed to talk about what it was about ! It was just not a story I'm particularly proud of, I guess.

Yes how the heck do you write 110 pages?! i have just started my own stories but i have been very busy so i havn't got very far. you must have a lot of time on your hands lolz

Yes it is a good quote, and one we should all live by and then shortly, all the dorks will band together and take over the world! MUAHAHAH!

now...on to more serious stuff... I get what you mean, about being too eventful however, my stories tend to progress to fast. My longest story is 15 pages I believe, I haven't finished it, but not sure if I ever will...It's about these two kids (Childhood friends) who find an unusual game in the arcade room, they go to play it, and soon find themselves in a fantasy world where a shape-shifting dragon has taken control. Their only hope for victory is to find the Sword of Light and Sword of Darkness (Yes, I got the swords from Shining Force) and use their combined powers to defeat Fear (the name of the dragon).

Okay yes - I did have a lot of time on my hands, but keep in mind that it took me a year, and I have a life!

Well, sometimes to make a story longer, I just put in some filler (stuff in the story that doesn't really matter to the plot) also, descriptions help a lot, to make a story longer and sound better!

London isn't so great. Trust me. It's polluted, dangerous and people here are generally unhappy. And rude. Gosh, that's a downer, sorry to dampen your spirits!! However, you definitely should come and visit. The theaters are great.

Well, I think America's the same, and to add on to it - it's an ignorant country! Anywhere would be better than the U.S.!

It's not really a known ice cream flavor, but it's the best in the world to me! I've heard it's only a michigan flavor, but when I visited Chicago, Illinois I saw it: Its called Superman, it's soooo delicious, but my dad says that it looks like im eating play-dough. It bright pink, yellow, and blue, strawberry, blue moon, and somewhat of a banana flavor, it's sooooo delicious! I'm in love with it.

I REALLY WANT TO MOVE TO ENGLAND / LONDONG TOO!

(Though not to be a negativ nancy--it costs THOUSANDS of dollars A YEAR to live there.)

I wouldn't really want to move to long at all, it seems that in almost every Armaggedon book, it mentions london being destroyed first. Bummer. But also they don't really have good economic values. The theaters are awesome, the best in the world, but some of thier films are drastic. I'm not trying to be rude or anything. But i love the U.S.A i think we should not be giving like fifty fife billion dollars to secret organizations and loans to other countrys since now we are like 3 trillion dollars in debt.

Try Australia, Move to Emerald City, (which is accually famous for mining saphires, Who knew?) It may be over run with aisians right now, but they'll clear out in a few years.

hahaha I loved your post, it made me laugh, (not at you) I agree with you, I think that the U.S. should try to help it's own people FIRST - I live in Michigan and my future looks scary because of the economy.

I don't why I love London so much, I've never even been there but I just wanna be there really really bad. It kind of like calls to me and I can't ignore the call. I know I sound weird, but there's no other way to explain it.

If you move to London, make sure you hang out a lot in Brick Lane or Camden as they are the hippest, youngest and most bohemian places to be.

I know what you mean about London calling out to you. With me, it's San Francisco, NYC and Tokyo. I just really want to visit them, possibly even live in them.

NYC is awesome, but I've never been to San Francisco - I've heard that it's really rainy there (but maybe I'm thinking of seattle, I'm not sure ) and Tokyo would be a really cool place to see too!
