2012, the year the Aztecs predicted that the world would end. It looks like their prediction was true because the World's Super Powers have started a Nuclear War and less than a million people are left. The Earth ha been rendered mostly uninhabitable and the only places are now in Antarctica, the Arctic Circle, and in the middle of the ocean. The climate is now very different and the animals left alive are dying. People die of hunger, radiation, or they kill each other. Though it seems the dead don't stay that way long. For reasons still unknown the one's killed by the radiation don't stay dead for long. More are dying everyday and people start to flee north and south to escape these horrors.

There are only humans (no mutants either) and no controlling other people's character unless you have their permission. And if you could, follow my character bio.

*might as well begin this*

I stepped out of the house ruins and looked around. The town was completely destroyed and dead people were in cars or on the street. Each had a bullet hole in the head: I couldn't risk them getting up. I only made it to Georgia so far but I still had many miles to go before I got to Florida. Then I heard a cock of a gun and heard a voice say, "Have you died?"

"Not yet." The gun pulled away. "What the hell was that for?" I asked turning to a woman holding a gun. She was with another woman holding a very yound child.

"Have to be cautious," she replied putting away the gun. The name's Serra and this here is Breckin and her son Isaiah."

"Name's Ashton and I have a friend here somewhere, her name is Callista. We're heading to Florida, you?"

"Same."

Callista whooped as she rounded another corner on her solar board. It was cold, of course, but that was the way she liked it. Her pale skin seemed to tingle and glow as the sun shone off of the snow below her. Callista laughed and crouched down to go faster. She was supposed to be sad and mourning for the loss of humanity but who could be sad when they were flying?

Callista coaxed her board up a bit more and sped up the hood of a truck and into the air. She did a quick barrel roll before she landed, spraying snow behind her. She closed into the rendezvous point, an old house long deserted by the owners. She whipped past a car and realized Ash was standing in the middle of the road. She tried to pull back her board and make it stop but she was going too fast. Callista yelped as she hit a fir hydrant and went flying a few feet. She landed in a snowdrift, head first.

She scrambled upright and popped her head out of the snow. Her body gave a reaction, finally, shuddering from her feet to her head. Callista coughed and looked up into a gloved hand. Callista took Ash's hand as he hoisted her up and out of the snow.

"Need this?" He threw her a warm fur coat. Callista hastily put the coat on. She squealed as she remembered her board.

"Where's my baby?!" she exclaimed. She ran past the women who looked confused. Ash smirked, "As I told you. My friend Callista. Calm down!" he shouted to her, "It's over there!"

Callista ran over to the board that had been discarded on the side. she picked it up and examined it. "Shit." she proclaimed loudly. A solar panel had been torn and needed to be repaired.

Ash cam up behind her, "You'll survive. You always can walk."

Callista scowled.

Breckin stood in the group in near silence. She wasn't very concerned with making best friends with these people and having a circle party while the world was destroyed, but she knew they probably needed each other to live.

She wore a pair of coveralls and a large winter coat with earmuffs and a pair of ski-goggles. Her two year old son, Isaiah, sat in a children's backpack on her back in a snowsuit and a pair of goggles and hat all his own. Off his backpack there was also another bag attached, with all the belongings they had left and needed.

She looked off towards the south...snow and ice for as far as you could see. She held a compass in a gloved hand to make sure it was the right direction, and then turned to the others, "We better get going."

Hmm. I think we need another male and I haven't created one for a while so... yeah, I'll have a guy...

Name= Daniel Briars.
Age= 23.
Appearance= Daniel has deep, chestnut hair and medium blue eyes. His skin has a very slight tan and he is of average height and well built.
History= Daniel was travelling south with his long term girlfriend Annie who recently died of sickness. Now he has given up. Somewhere between the East side of America and Florida, he is sat in the snow out of sight of any towns with a small bag of food and a very empty stomach. Only a thin shirt covers his torso and in his lap is the corpse of Annie, his jacket wrapped around her shoulders.
Personality= Daniel used to be an energetic, loving, romantic man but now he has relinquished his enthusiasm for life.

Serra pulled her carhart jacket tighter around her glad for her thick clothes. She watched the two kid around with each other and shook her head. "We need to get going." She turned and started out towards the great white yonder, oh how she wished it was blue. She missed the blue skys back home and see the cattle and horses, but there was nothing left there. They walked for a while until they couldn't see the town and the sky was getting a little darker. THey would need to build a shelter, igloo of some sort. She froze when she heard the sound of a heavy boot on the snow. She looked back at the others but none of them could have made that sound. She spun around the other direction saw a guy sitting still beneath a tree with what looked like a dead girl in his lap. He was shivering and she saw tears frozen to his face. She holstered her gun and slowly walked over. She kept her ears open to see what had made that sound but still didn't see anything.

"Are you ok?" She asked looking at the girl's body, she was beautiful, but dead as a rock. SHe needed to get him to get something warm on before he joined the dead girl. He didn't reply, didn't even look up and Serra sat back down on her heels a few feet away. "WHat happened to her?" She asked softly, this time he looked up a little,

Thank you my dear =)

Daniel

"What happened to her?" I raised my head a touch, my stiff, aching neck protesting violently. The figure was hazy due to the tears that had frozen to my eyelids in large, heavy droplets but I could make out the face of a young woman.

"Are you hungry?" she asked. I shifted my gaze to the rucksack that lay a few inches away. Gradually her hand slipped into my line of vision and wrapped around the bag. I followed her soft, delicate fingers back to her face and watched as she opened the bag and peered inside.

"Are you hungry?" she repeated. I moved my lips, rubbing them against each other, forming tiny droplets of spit to melt the frosted pane.

"T...t...ta...take it," I stuttered. Then I broke the connection and gazed lovingly at Annie. I dragged my heavy hand from its resting place, feeling clumsy as my numb fingers dripped water across her face. I reached over and drew the dark, thick jacket a little tighter around her shoulders.

"What's her name?" the girl tried again.

"Annie," I responded, taking my time over the word, allowing it to roll from my frozen lips and out into the cold, sharp air. I could not bare for her name to be broken, for her name to be stuttered and disfigured.

"What is yours?" Serra asked looking at the girl once again as she sat the bag of little food back by him.

"Daniel." he muttered, "Ta..take the food, i d..don't need it."

"I think you do, and I didn't ask to get your food. You need to get warm and eat. Or your gonna die." She said, she looked at the girl, he wasn't going to leave her with out a fight, that was for sure, but he would freeze to death if he didn't. She knew what it was like to leave people behind, and how hard it was, but she didn't want to have another person die when there were so few of them as there was.

I saw the dead body in front of me that Daniel was holding. I wondered how long ago she died, but no matter this man's emotional state I needed to be safe. I walked over to Daniel and the dead body he was holding took out my gun and put a bullet through the dead women's head.

"No!" Daniel cried as I put my gun away.

"Why did you do that!"Serra yelled.

"I want to stay alive," I said calmly, "and I can't risk that thing getting up. We need to do whatever is needed to live, even if that means killing someone who's dying or someone who's dead and could get up again. I am not proud of doing this, but I want to live."

Daniel

The strangers exchanged many words but I ignored them. The wound disfigured Annie's head and though it did not bleed, I could not ignore it. Frantically, I reached out and brushed a handful of stiff, copper curls across the gaping hole. I tried to arrange them so that she looked normal, peaceful. Of course I knew she was dead. I had acknowledged that a day or two ago but her presense lingered in the air, her scent clung to my clothes and I wanted to preserve that, to protect that.

"Hey!" the harshness of the voice caught my attention and as I looked up, the man kicked my side. It wasn't a hard kick and I was numb with cold but it throbbed with a blunt ache. "Are you coming or not? We can't waste much more time here."

Somehow his words penetrated and they were starting to make sense. I nodded numbly and someone took Annie from my lap. Then I was helped to a standing position by two people, one either side. If I'm honest, I didn't have much choice in the matter - they would have hauled me up had I been willing or not.

Callista mulled over how her board had broken. A clean cut on the exhaust pipe, nothing too incredibly bad. She sighed and started to look for the broken off piece. Suddenly a gun shot sounded throughout the village. Callista yelped and fell down yet again. She pulled herself up, Walk much? she thought to herself. She glanced around and saw Ash put a gun back into his jacket.

Callista jumped up and darted over. Ash had just killed a woman.

"What the hell did you just..." she started to yell at him but stopped. There was no blood coming out of the womans head. She was already dead. The man holding the corpse looked dumbfounded, glancing between Ash and the dead woman.

The man stopped glancing back and forth and fixed his blue eyes on Ash, "W-w-why did y-you just do that!" His voice rose higher and stronger. "You just shot her! She was dea..."

He stopped himself, his anger melted as he started to sob, holding the cold body closer. The tree he was leaning against seemed to shake with his cries. Callista put her board down and walked cautiously to the man.

"His name is Daniel." The mother said behind her.

Callista slid down the tree trunk and put her arm around the his shoulders, "We have to move. It'll be dark soon and we need to get inside. We'll freeze out here."

Daniel shook his head vigorously and clung tighter to the body. He shuddered against the warmth of Callistas body. Callista sighed and looked up for suggestions.

Breckin looked to the sky as Isaiah babbled on her back. She turned to the others, "She right, we're burning daylight. It will be smarter to move in before dark."

She sighed a little, so far her attempts to get the others to move had failed. She turned to Daniel and knelt down to him, "I'm very sorry for your loss. My husband also passed only this morning, but I know he would want his wife and son to do everything they could to survive. Don't you think she would want you to do the same?"
