Well, that was really short... a little too short. I like what you have so far, it has good description and good word choice, all it needs is to be flushed out and you need to add more details as to what's going on.

Well, that's really all I can critique you on since there isn't really much here to read...

I really like that piece of writing. I do not think that it was too short, short stories are excellent too! But I would like to know what happens next.
and to be caught under His gaze

I liked how you put His with a capital, the creature seemed more menacing that way, but you have to do that for all of the His's and He's or else none, because it's somewhat disjointed otherwise.
I don't really get the part about the stairs though.

You're right that it is rushed. :) Part of the problem is that there really isn't a point of view. Who is telling the story??

From the depths of darkness and the confusion of time, a mighty black beast stood. His scales of pitch and his claws of obsidian, he held his large, menacing snout towards the searing inferno of a sun above. His venemous breath drifted out of his slightly ajar jaws and lingered in the troubled, bitter air. His strikingly yellow eyes were crackling with deadly lightning, and to be caught under His gaze, you would instantly be banished to the chaotic realm beneath the fragile land of which he stood. So close to the divide of the two worlds, there was little logic of where things should be.

You should break this up, and give us more details. It's obvious that this creature is supposed to be evil, but he really doesn't grab my attention. I don't really have a reason to think he's evil. I mean, he hasn't DONE anything. Now if her were something like the Hydra, I would understand.
In your writing^^^ there is too much/too many details. It makes the sentences long, and somewhat tedious to read X(
Anyway....

Just then, a grey, stone staircase came whizzing towards his great, horned head. He ducked down with a deep, agitated grunt and continued to watch the sun, as if that if he didn't watch it, it would somehow desert him...

Since you cut off right after this, it leaves me rather confused. Why, of all things, is a stair case flying at his head? You'd think a lightning bolt or something. Also, it really doesn't tie into the last sentence. We need a reason for him to stare at the sun, and an explanation for the random staircase. Maybe the main character's.... best friend comes down and... attacks the thing and get's himself killed???
There's just so little to go on, it's hard to tell what's going on. :(

Basically, embellish your work, and round it out :D :D :D Details! The hero!! The villain!!! The damsel in distress!!! XDXDXDXD Good luck with the rest of your work :D :D :D :D ^-^V

this is good and in no way was it messy. it intrigued me. what is this creature?i think the staircase is nice since it adds to the mystery, and anything else would be a tad bit predictable. it would have been better if we got more of the "mighty black beast" and its purpose.

It was a good story, I liked it, it could be abit longer, I would like to know more about this beast, and what its purpose is and so forth. You also need to tell more about this strange staircase.
