Eep...er....hello?

Hello, YWS...my name is Emily. I...erm...well, I don't know what to say. I suppose I'll start off by telling a little about myself? If that is not conceited?

I am thirteen. I...well, I have never been good with speaking, and I do speak very little. But writing is my life, and I have been writing since I was eight. I...I really don't even know what started me writing.

I enjoy all different types of genres. Fantasy, and er...poetry, I absolutely love poetry, though I have never been good at it myself, I do intend to put up some of my poetry, and perhaps, maybe, get some help with it?

I have never shared my work before, I am so used to hoarding it and trying to edit and fix it myself, even though I know that it is horrible to do so. So I am hoping to...erm, to break the habit.

Well, I hope that is not too much...I really wasn't sure what to put. I do hope I will be welcome here. My cousin mentioned it to me, she said her user name was, erm, Broken Wings? And she felt...er...she felt terribly sorry for not coming on in so long, but she...well, I forget what she told me exactly. But she said I write better than her, and I need others advice, so she told me to come here and I, er, I did.

Is this post too long? Oh dear...terribly sorry. Please do forgive my ranting, I'm just nervous.

welcome! im new too but dont worry about having a long post or sounding nervous. this is a writing site, you are supposed to rant on and on about whatever you like! ill demonstrate: i like tootsie rolls and i just ate like a whole bag even though its not halloween yet and they were really good although now i feel sick and my pocket is full of wrappers. the people here are really nice even though this is my second day. the critiques are great! dont take anything too personally, just try to improve. umm... yup. so welcome!

Hello, hello! Please, no need for shyness here. We're all fairly decent human beings (although some have shown alarming tendencies towards vampirism) and as long as you're perfect, even the vampiristic ones won't bite.

Seriously, though, what's this site for except to improve? If our work is already professional, what good is it to have it critiqued?

What kind of poetry do you like to read, Emily? I myself keep a large volume of Tennyson next to my bed, and read a bit of his sometimes-disturbing but luscious poetry...

Fantasy? You like fantasy too? HURRAH! Perhaps we shall be friends.

And believe me, if anyone has to apologize for length of posts, it is I. I can't stop writing, once I get started...it's like the click of my fingers on the keyboard is hypnotizing! Besides, it's a writing site. One is supposed to be long-winded.

Please, if you have questions, need a critique or just have a sudden urgent desire to crawl into a corner and put a blanket over your head, pm me and I'll be glad to offer you answers, critiques or I'll provide the corner and the blanket. Glad to have you aboard!

I love vampires...I read all kind of vampire novels. I've written the beginnings of a few stories, too.

I like all kinds of poetry. Any at all, as long as it is good. But, I have to say, er, my favorite poet, and writer, is Edgar Allan Poe.

I just read your post. I'm also very nervous, although you wouldn't know it. You remind me of victor from corpse bride. In the best possible way of course.
You like Edgar allan Poe? I love his writing too. His best story is probably the Teletale Heart, in my opinion and the Raven.
I also like poetry but my feeble attempts are well..... just that feeble.
