[Insert interesting intro thread title here]

Wow, yet another introduction thread for yet another forum. Good grief, I think I'm an addict. Anyway, I'll keep it brief as I don't want to bore you with my life story.

My name is Laura, I'm a 17 year old girl from England and I've been writing since I was about 11. Despite my long history with writing, I've not yet finished any of my works and I'm actually quite ashamed to say that. I do write a lot when I get the chance but most of the time I lack the motivation to finish it because it seems so stupid when I read it back to myself. As a result of this, I turned to the twisted world of post by post roleplaying; but the complaining and backbiting that went on between the members annoyed me and I quit last year.

As a person I'm pretty strange. I go through phases where I get obsessed with one random thing and then move onto another project after about a month or so. At the moment, my new fixation is anime and manga. And those are two things I hated last year. Other than watching anime and reading manga, I read a lot of literature in general, though not so much anymore.

Anyway, I think that's about enough of my rambling. I look forward to chatting with you all!

Yes, it's fine to call me Laura! 'Baka' fits too seeing as I am a bit of twit sometimes.

Okay, I'll deal with the manga question first. My favourite manga... hmm... it's a toss up between Vampire Knight and Kare Kano. Kare Kano because it's just the best romance manga EVER (imo anyway) and Vampire Knight because it's vampires and I used to have a fixation on vampires. As far as my favourite manga-ka is concerned, I think it's probably Arina Tanemura. Even though her mangas are my favourites, her drawing style is my favourite; second only to Matsuri Hino's.

As for writing... I used to do roleplaying on various boards, then I moved on to just writing fanfiction and now I've gone back to writing my own stories. At the moment I'm in the process of planning out a fantasy novel that's kinda a fairytale, but not quite for children. It's an idea I've had for quite a while now... I just hope I can finish writing it this time. <_<

Reading, I read a lot of historical period books, now that I think about it. That and quite a lot of romance novels. I'm a sucker for a love story.

Another manga fan! Sumi's already asked you about your favourite manga-ka, she's beaten me there XD What kind of manga do you tend to read? Romance and fantasy? *is sci-fi & horror geek*

I mostly got into writing through RPing, but the sites I all used died, so I migrated over here ^^

If you're worried about finishing your novel, why not try NaNoWriMo? It's getting to be about that time of year again, after all. (NaNoWriMo is the only time I've ever completed a long story, myself. It's very good motivation.)

Don't forget to check out the animé & manga usergroup. It's been a little dead, but maybe a new member could help to breathe some life into it.
