Why Daddy?

Ever since mom died, he's never been the same. I remember the last time I saw dad smile. It was last year and mommy and daddy had taken me out to eat for my fourth birthday. We laughed so much that day. I could still smell the delicious steak drenched in thick, warm garlic sauce and the buttery, roasted mashed potatoes. But it all feels like a dream now that I think about it. Suddenly I heard the sound that I had been dreading all afternoon. The front door slammed, Daddy was home. "Emily, where are yah?" he roared. The fear rushed back into me like a cold night’s breeze. My heart started to race as I heard him begin to search for me. "Emily, come to daddy!" His voice echoed through the walls of the downstairs hallway. My breathing became heavy and scarce as he started to slowly climb the stairs towards me.
I was terrified. "Don’t hide from daddy Emily! I don’t wanna hurt yah!" he continued to yell as he precariously climbed the stairs. My eyes welled up as I heard him thud on the last step and yell "Daddy's been thinking about yah all night Emily!" He gave a small laugh as he continued his taunting words "And daddy's gonna find yah!" The closer he came to my bedroom door the more tears came down my face. I didn’t want to cry, but I knew it was only a matter of time before daddy hurts me again. I wanted to scream and run for help but I was trapped and it was too late. As I heard his footsteps outside my bedroom door, fear shot through my veins like a heart beat. I suddenly remembered that I had forgotten to lock my door.
The door slammed open with a loud bang as silent tears of fear ran down my face. I saw him lubberly enter my bedroom through the cracks of my closet door and place his bottle down hard on my dresser, spilling some of the contaminating liquid on top. He looked angry. After draining the last of his liquid poison and giving a beastly belch he continued with his threats. "Emily, Come hear now!" he declared. In spite of my fear I let out the smallest whimper but as I tried to stop my breathing in hopes that he didn’t hear me I knew I would pay for my mistake. He stared at the closet door and smiled, he had found me. "Come out beautiful, I promise I wont hurt yah" he proclaimed as he took his first approach towards the door.
I was petrified as he yanked the door open with all his might. Daddy furiously took me from my only means of protection and pulled me into the moonlight emitting from the window.
He positioned me on the bed and began to run his fingers through my long blonde hair. I felt helpless as he commenced his violation upon my childish body regardless of my pleads and silent objections. He continued to kiss me on my neck in addition to his abusive actions. I could no longer hold back my pain-filled screams in hopes that someone would hear my attempts for salvation.
This only made daddy angry. The louder I screamed the angrier and demanding he became. Until finally daddy's anger got the best of him and he gave one forceful strike against my bare face. I began to wail with tears of pain as he continued to beat me and scream words of menacing aggression. "Dont resist me Emily, I am your father!" My last hope of life was gone as daddy grasped my bruised body and thrust me to the ground. I looked up at his fury-filled face and spoke my last breath of life to him. "Why daddy?"

Gosh, this is deep and very moving and such.

"I could still smell the delicious steak drenched in thick, warm garlic sauce and the buttery, roasted mashed potatoes."

This reminded me of an advert for food on the tele. I liked it, even though it made me hungry.
^-^

You're very good with your descriptions in here and the only thing i'd sugest to improve it is so separate the paragraphs abit more...it all seems alittle compact. I like it when there are spaces in between paragraphs on the computer as it's alittle easier to read, but that's jsut my opinion.

Anyway, good work, very emotional.

So's your face

That's how we should measure our lives. Not in distance traveled, or time passed, or worlds conquered, but in moments... and the rush of joy—of grace—that exists within them.
