Come and hopefully never go? Hi all.

I just registered cause this site looks active and interesting so I thought I'd try it out. You can call me.. er, someone give me a nickname. Cause I can't think of one (well, actually, yes I do have a nickname but it's usually used by my close friends so doesn't seem too appropriate, do you think?). I like reading thrillers and I first showed my interest in writing in school (sounds tacky, I know) through my essays two years ago. Last year I began writing short personal stories(thus, replacing the idea of a diary) and I wrote 1 long poem. I didn't keep track of the grammar or story line in most of these because I didn't take it seriously. This year, I entered a few small writing competitions within my school and I've still been writing short stories when I feel like it for my own amusement. I've also written a few more poems this year; most of them incomplete.

I found this site when searching for my friend's email address on google (I do those kind of things for fun when I have nothing else in mind better to do) and I found the profile on this website. So all in all, I hope I can take my writing more seriously and develop better stories. I've never critiqued before, though. I'll start here I guess. And yup, I'm ready and expecting to be in for a new experience in writing. Lastly, did I forget to say hi to everyone?

Ah, I found it odd sharing my stuff at first, because like you said it can be really personal, but the users here are really friendly and open minded and you just easily open up to them.
