I don't want to disrespect this site because i actually think it's a terrific idea. Honestly. I'm another person on this site and i don't think i'm the best writer and will never write about people who have hailed me(very few and far between). But i can say that i do love literature. Most forms of it, well, except maybe fantasy and science fictiony type stuff which doesn't do enough to distance itself from the real world.

Well anyway by now i've wavered and i though i'd introduce myself. I've only posted one story so far, and it got heavily critiqued which is actually perfect. I live in Melbourne, and it's pretty suave.

Peace out, daWgZ.

Hey there! I'm Lupe, coming to welcome you to YWS. And you don't have to be a good writer here. I haven't written very much myself and I haven't exactly gotten hip hip ho rays for the ones I have written.

Anyways, welcome to our family.

Hey, welcome to YWS! I'm Areida, but feel free to call me Ari (everybody does anyway). If you need anything, just shoot me a PM and I'm happy to help. I'm addicted to this place, so I'm on at least twice a day, if not more.

Hope you're enjoying the site so far! :D

Is this to be read as a particular dislike for urban fantasy/sci-fi that takes place within the next hundred years, or as a particular dislike for poor worldbuilding?

Either way, pleased to meet you.

Well, i'm not a fan of things set in a different time frame. I'm a fan of writing in the semi-present, as in, 20 years give or take. It's nice to write on a reflection of how we live now.

But yes, i am also not a fan of stories that take place on 'Vixole Arnet 53' for example, but i do like metaphorical stories like 'Animal Farm'.
