Hey everyone! Just thought I'd pop in, say, "Hello", and tell a little bit about myself...

I am 13 years old, my birthday's on October 5th, and I'm from the USA. I write poems and short stories in my spare time. I also play sports like volleyball, golf, basketball, and tennis. I have a chocolate lab that's so dang cute, and a little brother that's 11.

I like to hang out with my friends every chance I get. One of my friends and I work at a golf course during the summer, helping with the kids' golf clinics. Very fun! And yes, doing 360's in a golf cart IS possible. :D

My friends are all puzzle pieces - they all have their own personalities which fill in for the qualities that I do not have.

I have at least 15 websites, but none of them compare to the likes of BT4T because of all of the help that most of the staff have done to help keep BT4T alive! :D Shout out to kitty15, one of the co-admins at By Teens 4 Teens. Very awesome admin, by the way. :)

I won a poetry slam at my public library in April. I also won the Young Writers' Poetry Contest in my region as well. I was also chosen as a Top 10 Poet in my region in the Creative Communications Poetry Contest, and was published in their Spring 2007 Poetry Compilation. I am also being published in the summer poetry contest as well, and am awaiting news as to whether or not I am chosen as a Top 10 Poet.

I have a 4.0 GPA and I strive to get good grades in all of my classes. My favorite school subjects are English and Geography/History, and my least favorite subject is Math. I won my school spelling bee and advanced all the way to regionals (6th place at regionals; 5th place to go to state) this past school year. I have received the Presidential Award of Excellence in 06' and 07'. I also have played the tenor saxophone for 3 years and counting, and I was chosen to be in the All-State MN Honor Band in 2006.

Hey Mariah, welcome to the site. If you'd like help navigating YWS or desire a critique, feel free to pm me. Lol. How are you, hun? And thanks for the shout out but I'm not all that good and now I feel guilty that I haven't done point managing yet this week. I'll have a look in a minute and send you an update as soon as possible.

'sup dudette! I thought I was the only one who said that  !

Just a guess, but you strike me as someone who's into poetry :D . You'll like it here then, as long as you don't mind people performing open heart surgery on your work. I'd like to see what you've written recently, maybe it'll help me with my awful attempts at poetry :? .

See you around sometime!

It's very nice to meet you and, yes, math is oh so frusterating... (Maybe algebra will be better this year since it's mostly letters instead of numbers.) lol

I shall talk to you later, dudette. :)

I have submitted a few poems and one short story, but so far, they've mostly all hit the chopping block. :S

And yeah, heart surgery was performed on my work, but someone forgot to hand me the scalpel, so I wasn't prepared. :S lol

I shall speak to you soon, fellow dudette.

Another web design junkie, are we? (I do the same thing, although my most important one is currently down while I figure out what to do with it.) Have you taken any courses, or are you self taught?

Good luck keeping up your GPA, an' all that.

Hey, yeah, when I was about 7 or 8 I thought it'd be fun to make my own website, and let me tell you, it would have probably been on the Worst of the Web website... lol

I want to take some classes on web design in college or in high school, as it would be very fun to design other people's websites instead of my own.

It's nice to meet you, by the way; very good to meet a fellow web design junkie. :D

Definitely take a class if you can. You'll be surprised by how much you don't know. (I don't mean that in a bad way; I was self taught, but then I took a class and I learned how to do a lot of those things that I always wondered about, and learned the "right" way to do a lot of the things I thought I understood. :)

No offense taken.

Where can you take classes? Do they offer them online? (Any recommendations for good online classes, if there are online classes?)

Thank You :)
