Amber was fire-engine red, and she knew it. She turned away and muttered, "I guess I'll go home."
The situation was resolved as Miles strolled up. He looked from Max to Amber, then back. "Hi, hope I didn't interrupt. I'm Miles Keyston."
"A pleasrue," said Siren. "Are you new here?"
"Yeah, I moved in yesterday. Anywho, it's nice to meet you all." He waved and went his way.
"Nice to meet you, he says," Amber grumbled. "He didn't even wait to hear our names. What's up with that?"
"Cool it, Pip. I think you should go home. Come on, crew." Siren waved his bother over to join him. "I'll catch you later."
"Thanks," muttered Amber. "Oh well, I'll go look Miles up." She went to a pay phone, thumbed it until she reached "Residential," and looked up "Keyston." It was listed under the name Robert.
"Is that his name, or his dad's?" She shrugged and dialed the number.
"You've reached Miles. Please call back later, or leave a message." She hung up, thinking, "The name fits him to a T."
