New Girl on Campus

Hello, My name is Megan (Megalapagos is a childhood nickname that I recently dredged up along with some other interesting memories). You may call me Meg for short if it pleases you.

I am 21 years old. I work at a small law firm in Sarasota, FL as a legal secretary. When I'm not working, I am taking classes to become a Certified Legal Assistant, cleaning up after my demon-cat or reading. I used to write for fun in high school but I gave it up for a while when I moved out and got married. I am now attempting to re-hone my writing skills.

I have not been on the net for leisure in quite some time and therefore have forgotten all of the necessary e-shorthand. I promise to try to reacquaint myself with all the old stuff as well as learn the new stuff. I would welcome any help (like a buddy who I can talk to when I have a problem that I can't find the self-help section for).

I may not be the greatest writer yet (as I am kinda rusty after so long) but I am a careful, honest and (I like to think) a more-than-adequate editor. I most enjoy reading fantasy/sci-fi, horror, comedy/satire and just about anything else that is fiction.

Hi, Megalapagos/Megan/Meg! Out of curiosity, do you have dark hair? I know several people named Megan, and they all seem to have dark brown or black hair.

You're definately in the right place if you're wanting to hone your writing/editing skills! Especially the editing. We can always use another nit-picky critequer!

Oh, and don't worry too much about re-learning "e-shorthand." Since this is a writing site, people tend not to use it too over-excessively. lol

YAY! You have a demon-cat, I have a demon-cat. Don't worry about e-shorthand as YWS is a writing site, we promote the use of proper spelling and grammer. I would say English but we aren't solely an english speaking site.

Legal Assistant? The most I know about Law is what I did as part of a competition for my school and even then I was just a Magistrate and therefore wasn't great at writing up questions etc.... Is it hard going to become a legal assistant?

E-short hand is NEARLY completely banned from YWS! I think 'Lol' floats around (I have used it here before..) but most other short hand is only used when signing guestbooks, in pm's and blogs. So no need to learn anything more!
