Hello everyone...My name is Gretta but here you can call me Luna or whatever floats your boat - I highly doubt that I would respond if you called me, say, Amanda, because there is no way whatsoever I would expect to be called Amanda, hence I would not answer you. So your safest bet is probably Luna or Gretta. Actually I've also been known to answer to Meredith.

I have been writing as long as I can remember. My first [recorded] story was spoken aloud to my mother who wrote it down. I was two. It was about tomatoes. I've been going since then. And now I'm 14. Almost 15.

Several of my friends describe me as both random and talkative - but then again, they are too, so you'll have to be the judge on that. I love to read just as much as I love to write - apparently my dad was reading books to me the day I was born, and it's been going from there. I dunno, I just love words!

I'm hoping it won't take me too long to get accustomed to the site, and I can't wait to read what everyone has written as well as post my own work. (I'm planning on doing a good deal of both.)

When it comes to my own writing, I tend to skip around. I love to write poetry, have had one poem published in an extremely small magazine called "Acorn", and (so proud of this!) my aunt sent one of my poems to Shannon Hale who apparently really liked it...she said "beautiful lines" in a book she autographed for me...

I prefer writing fantasy, but I dabble in just about as many genres as I fancy, it varies from month to month. I am working on a novel which is 83 pages (current version) and counting, with probably 200 pages worth of old, outdated, revised work. Not done yet, nowhere near done, but it is coming along swimmingly.

Other than the writer in me, I love to knit, I'm a drama geek, I sing every opportunity I get, I play several instruments including harp, I don't watch that much TV, and I'm one of the only two siblings in my house who has to share a room.

Anyway, can't wait to get started around here, get to know everyone, and start reading! I realize that this is extremely long and if you read the whole thing? Kudos. (Gives a Kudos bar)

~Until later, then~

Hey, [s]Amanda[/s] Gretta! I adore Kudos bars.

I've heard of Acorn...isn't that mainly a haiku mag? I thought about submitting to it, but I haven't read most of what they publish. I'd love to see the poem you had published there. Congratulations on that!

I look forward to seeing your work around here...I sort of live in the poetry forums, so pop over there every once in a while.

Thanks, everyone. And Fireweed, in answer to your question, not only do I play harp, I play guitar and piano. . .

Acorn is a magazine for teen writers that's mostly western US...I think. Not sure. I might post the poem here eventually since rights reverted back to me and I can do that and all. :)
