A Wyvern works. But how about two or three gargoiles (or however you spell that) that some necromancer made alive as to destroy the city and guard the library. The library contains information that someone could use to defeat him; without that information he would be pratically undefeatable. 2 badies for the price of 1 . Just an idea.
Gargoyles...I can spell! Ya okay...Human zombis sounds good. They could be invinsible (chop off head, and it grows back in a little bit) until we kill the gargoyles and/or evil wizard; then they would turn back into humans.
Yeah, we're sticking with the Wyvern! That's a definate. The possessed soldiers and gargoyles...we'll need to discuss that more, so, unless decided otherwise (since they've already been mentioned in the story) they'll be a rumor that's going around about the city where this library is. How's that?

Why don't we do the gargoyles? It's your call but it's kinda hard to switch now, unless you just deleted the last three posts (which is perfectly fine by me). So if your going to go with the Wyvern please delete the last three, cause if not it messes things up. Either way.
I've got it! Something that'll solve this little dilemma! How about we have to fight a zombie wyvern after facing all the zombies and gargoyles? That way we get to use both ideas without any contradiction.
(When all else fails, turn both parties into zombies!)

Wait a minute... are we just fighting random stuff or does the whole zombification thing serve some ulterior plot?
I don't mind fighting zombies, but if there is no plot reason behind it, then aren't we just fighting stuff? We need a better source of conflict than just fighting zombies.
I think we decided on the zombies actually being like possessed/cursed soldiers who now work for an evil wizard guy. And in order to get to this library, we have to get past them. Unfortunately, we may end up having to save a whole city while we're at it, THEN go to the library, so...we'll just see how it turns out!

There's just once thing I don't quite understand. If we have to go through some sort of tunnel to get to the city, does that mean the city is underground?
And what about the zombies? If the people have been zombies for around a century isn't it a little too late to save them?

Not necessarily. We could be taking a shortcut through a mountain, and the city could be in a valley nearby. As for the zombies...I think there are instances in which you can save them even after a long period of time; it's just tricky.
