Blood Dogs Discussion Thread

Character, Plot, OOC discussion and the like.

Midnight, much as I'm a fan of Snipers and Black Ops, I'd like you to modify your character a bit.

The army that was sent to deal with the Black Dogs was not a bery big one. It was little more than a scouting party, because the Triad hadn't anticipated the sheer power of the Blood Dogs. Therefore, there wouldn't be any Black Ops in the mission. Scout Snipers, yes. Soldiers specializing in silent kills, yes. But not Black Ops. Also, with as few people as we have in the storybook, you may want to rethink your decision to be a sniper--we already have one, and two characters serving the same purpose is rather superfluous.

And now, a question for everyone: Why did you make your character how he/she is? What do you hope to achieve, character-wise?

I agree with Hunter Chris. You may want to change it up a bit.

To answer the question, I was interested in the Arcanite race. Also, I haven't played a young character in a while and never someone so vulnerable before. I hought it would be interesting and couldn' see many people choosing the same race. Looks like I was right =) As for what role I can see my character playing... I think Alicia will mostly deal with large, elemental spells and healing and she'll give your tough characters someone to protect. Lol.

I'd like to point out that your character is a tad young to be casting many powerful spells, so keep that in mind when writing her spellcasting, yes?

Lyaim - Gaelk

Reason I chose him? Well, I saw very few people had gone for a Gaelk character and there was also little description of their race compared to the other three. This gives me a bit of room to expand them and develop their race's history and such.

Lyiam's goal? Superficially, he is out to do his duty. He will continue to repair/improve/fiddle with any Gaelk machinery he finds and will stolidly defend all who seek protection from him. Ultimately, Lyiam wants to find out more about the Human's technology but he isn't quite ready to admit this yet.


To begin with, I'd like to have Lyaim discovered underneath a wrecked Gaelk steam tank which fell on top of him after he fell into a ditch. Because of this, he hasn't been crushed to death (although he is fairly thick-skinned, he's not invincible!) but he is trapped until someone can move the tank out the way. This leaves him unable to help out in the battle and something to grumble about.

Small note to Kitty15: I think you've already introduced my character? If you have, please add in the bit with the tank or if not just discover him later. Thanks .

Okay. Sorry about that problem. I just wanted to be a sniper but whatever. I'll change it. I also meant to put that he wanted to be transfered from the Black Ops to just the Shock Troops after the incident. However, I really want to keep his equipment, bio, branch, and rank the same. Is that okay?

I left it rather open which it was but sure, I'll edit my post to involve the tank.

Hunter - don't worry, I don't see my character playing a huge role in the fighting but I'll bare her age in mind.

Hate to sound like a Plot Nazi, but your post messes with the continuity of the storybook...

PLOT: Storybook writers will make a character using one of the Triad races. With the re-emergence of the Blood Dogs, the Triad sent forth a small army to quell the uprising. The army was decimated. The writers of this storybook will be those precious few who survived. Their goal--to trek over enemy lines to reach their superior officers and warn them of the oncoming army.

The army was completely destroyed. The rest of the military forces are back at the capital cities...the writers of the storybook are literally all that's left of the army that was sent to kill the Blood Dogs. No med tent, no CO, no radio contact.

Got it. man Chris, you need to look into this a little bit more.

Question:

Is Lyaim the only surviving Gaelk and are we going to meet up with the other Gaelk (written by Fand maybe?) later, or are we going to find her now and introduce her?

I might not mention it in my post, I'll just ignore it for now, but as things start to unfold I guess we need to introduce all the characters that are going to begin here, soon.

What's going on in the story at the moment, because when i was reading over the whole story just about nothing really made much sense. *i was on vacation and so i haven't been able to post really*.

Basically, the joint forces of the three races are reeling in the aftermath of the ambush. Some people have escaped without injury, and other's haven't been so lucky. Anyone who's injured is being treated and all the other people are simply stalling and waiting for what comes next.

sort of, i mean, which characters have been found/ healed, which have not. Who is doing what...

Well Lance, Alicia, Cole (Sargeant), Crys (Commanding Officer), Lyaim (Greldan) and Dathan have met up and currently, Alicia is doing what she can to help Lyaim and Dathan who have both been hurt. Lance is standing watch over them and the other two are out searching for survivors and such.
