"Well, it seems we have everyone, then," Karana mused dully. "We can go through with this mission that man spoke of."

"You're right," Aubrey nodded.

"And, in the process, avenge your brethen," Sarka looked at Lethero.

He nodded. It seemed to satisfy him.

"Well? Are we in this together?" Karana asked, praying they would say yes. I can also find my brother...that wicked bastard!

Sarka shrugged. "I suppose we have no choice in the matter if we want to save Carnaby, and possibly the world." she added in an afterthought.

"You're right. When do we head out?" Skye asked.

"Tomorrow."

Aubrey was so unsure of this. She didn't know these people. Sarka a little bit. But the rest, no.

"Lethero...the name seems familiar...but not the face."

"You might've heard it from one of my pack members when they were here."

"Maybe." She shrugged it off.

"So everyone meet back here at dawn tomorrow?" Sarka suggested.

"Sounds good to me." Aubrey said. And then she ran home to pack.

Skye

I stayed rather quiet through the discussions and eyed my new travelling companions. They were strange, diverse, different. They seemed so willing to put their lives on hold because one man had said they should. No. Rather he had hinted that they should. We should. To be honest, i was just a touch reluctant to do the same.

I did not voice this reluctance but left the house and wandered back home. My parents were on the sofa, watching some old, romantic movie.
"Is that you Skye?" My mother called out.
"Yeah," I replied, entering the room. "I'm going to be gone saving the world for a few days."
"That's nice dear," She replied absently and I smiled fondly as she tilted her head to one side. Then my words seemed to reach her ear and she turned to face me.
"You can't be serious honey. I'm sure he didn't mean you," My mother gave a little laugh as she said this and turned to my father who nodded in agreeance.
"I'm pretty certain I'm the only fairy living around here," I smiled, this time in amusement.
"But it sounds dangerous dear," My mother protested.
"Don't worry. I'll be careful. We can discuss it in the morning after I've packed. Night mum. Night dad."

When the others left Lethero turned to Sarka. "What mission?" Lethero asked.

*lol ash. You're not the only one*

Sarka gestured to Orion. "Go ahead my brother. You may go."

Orion left quickly.

"What mission?" Lethero demanded impatiently.

"A few hours ago, a man, near death, stumbled into this town. He warned of someone wanting to take over Carnaby, and maybe the world. Soon after, he died. He said that two telepaths, a shapeshifter, a fairy, and a werewolf would be able to stop that person, with the help of a wizard *right?*" Sarka explained.

"And I'm the werewolf?" he asked with no emotion in his voice.

"I'm afraid so." she said, smiling slightly.

"So where would this wizard be?" Lethero asked.

"That, we have no clue of," Sarka said, "but we're crossing our fingers that by chance a wizard comes into town like you did."

"So I was basically luck." Sarka nodded. "How do you know I'm the right Werewolf."

"Well, you're probably the only one for miles."

"True." Lethero said. "My pack was murdered little over a year ago, and we were the only werewolves around. Ever since, i've been looking for the murderer or someone who could tell me where they were."

"And now you've found one." Sarka said. Lethero nodded that he had.

"But...I'm afraid i can't help you with revenge." Sarka said.

"I wasn't expecting you to." Lethero said.

Karana turned to the forest, taking shelter beneath a tall, wide magnolia.

This will be interesting. A werewolf, a fairy, a shapeshifter, and two telepaths off to save the world. Definately an adventure one would not want to miss.

She pulled out a concealed locket and opeend it. Images of her and a boy - her brother, whose hair was a rich reddish brown - were trapped inside. I may have a chance to catch you finally, as well.

She closed the locket and clambered into the tree. She had everything she needed for the trip, her clothes, knives, darts, her mind...Satisfied, she fell asleep and waited for the sun to wake her.

Aubrey grabbed some clothes and shoved it in her bag. She put in some food and water. She looked around for anything else. Ah, her wallet and picture of her sister and mother. She walked out of her room and kissed her mother on the forehead who was seating in a chair knitting and staring at the wall blankly. She sighed and went into her little sister's room. Her sister was drawing on the walls again with a black charcoal stick...she thought. There were black and red images everywhere. On the walls, ceiling, floor. On everything she owned. In books. They were of death and pain. Of suffering. Horrible images. She shuddered. Amy was only 9. She shouldn't be thinking of this. She set a letter down on the dresser and walked out. She knew if she hugged her or said goodbye she would panick. So she just left. She walked to the shack outside and layed down on the floor. She fell asleep there till morning.

Skye

I placed a few bits and pieces in a bag. Some clothes, a little food, money, water. That didn't look like a lot so I added a few more trinkets. A compass, a random first aid kit and a few small bags of herbs and such. That looked better. Then I closed the curtains and went to sleep.

Just a little after dawn, I woke, picked up my bag and headed downstairs.
"Bye mum. Bye dad," I called softly into the sleeping house before heading out the door. Or at least that was my intention. I walked forward, pushed the door open and encountered a force field.
"We'd rather you said goodbye first," My mother murmured from the shadows.
"Properly," My dad added. I went to them and hugged them both, planted a soft kiss on four cheeks and then whispered my goodbyes.

"Did you bring anything?" Sarka asked.

"I came in here with nothing," Lethero replied, "so no have nothing besides the clothes on my back."

"You really are a loner. There's a bathtub in the back, you look like you could use a bath."

Lethero smiled. "I feel like I do, too." He got got up and walked to the place Sarka said the bath was. Omce I found it, I removed my armor and got in and relaxed.

In the morning Sarka gathered up her pack and called to Lethero, "I'll be back shortly."

She walked out her door and over to Orion's house. She knocked sftly on the door. It opened almost immediately.

"You leaving now?" he asked. Sarka nodded.

"Just don't get killed and hurry home." he said. Sarka agreed she would and hugged him briefly. She waved bye and walked back to her house to wait for the others.

Aubrey woke up and saw the sky. She cursed and knew she was gonna be late. She grabbed her pack and ran towards Sarka's house. She reached the place and all of them were there.

"You're late." Sarka said.

"Yeah, sorry. Overselpt." She panted.

*Oh no! Writers block is coming to get me!*

Skye

I was the first to arrive at Sarka's house but Karana wasn't far behind. We sat in a small, lightly furnished room with Lethero and Sarka and I listened as they discussed plans.
"Do you think the wizard will be hard to find?" Karana wondered.
"I hope not," Sarka replied, "Should we take horses?"
"I'm not sure."
"I don't think we'll need them," Lethero commented.

Just then, there was a knock at the door. I got up and opened it to allow Aubrey entrance.
"You're late," Sarka said.
"Yeah, sorry. Overslept," Aubrey replied, breathing heavily.
"Shall we be leaving then?" Lethero asked and together the group set out.
