He needs some ears! And you should finish coloring it. xD I like how he has the same facial expression in both portraits, and I like your idea of drawing the same person at different ages.
I think you could work on your feet and hands. They're big-- hands are the size of your face, and feet are the size of your forearm.

Needs ears, finish coloring, and put it on paper that doesn't have the pretty blue lines . That looks like one of the things I draw at school in an attempt to avoid paying attention.
They remind me of back in the day when the other second graders envied my sweet drawing skills... don't take that the wrong way, I just mean it gives me that warm fuzzy feeling inside. ^_^
add some color, it will look fantastic.
if you do put color in, i would keep a color scheme. like different shades of blues if you want a blue scheme, etc,etc.
Might add some whacky colours to make it more random!

It definately needs colour. The style also seems kinda too simple, even though it's cute to look at. I think it needs some higher degree of technique for it to look interesting.
