Keski paced back and forth restlessly. Ankot watched her.

"I don't like it down here. I feel too vulnerable. They could attack any minute, and we would be stuck. Damn." Keski swore.

"Settle down. If they wanted to kill us, they would've sent us back up there." Ankot said, pointing up.

"No, they wouldnt. They know that if we're caught, one of us will spill the location of them before we die." Keski said, increasing her pace.

"You're right." Ankot conceded. Keski glared at him.

"You're not helping."

Keski knew they would post someone to watch them. Lethero was not going to let them just waltz in and make themselves at home. She scanned the tunnel with her eyes, and finally spotted a dark wolf hiding in the shadows, just barley visible. She stared at im and he stared back, not moving. Keski shrugged and turned away.

"So what now?" Ankot asked.

"We get some sleep. Post a watch, and hae them switch out every two hours." Keski said. She then stalked away and into the shadows. She spread out on the floor in her wolf form and soon fell asleep.

"Don't ever leave again! You had me worried to death! I had to interupt my pack members to find you!" Sev yelled angerly at Scout. Scout started to cry.
"I'm sorry Dad. Really I'm sorry. I didn't know where you were. I was really worried." She sobbed.
"Okay, okay. Come here," Sev said. Scout jumped on his lap and shoved her face into his chest.
"You know, Scout, if your mother was still here she'd be able to bring to the surface again to see me. And how do you explain the clay shards I found on the floor?" Sev asked Scout.
"I broke a pot."
Sev ushered her to pick up the clay. He sat back and watched remembering her real name. Creekwater. It was her mother's name. Scout was only six years old when her mother died. Now she was 10 and she seemed to have forgot.
"So, I was thinking, I've always wanted to ride a TaunTaun."
"Ummmm....I asked you answer the math problem on the board."
"No you didn't."
"Yes I did."
"Yeah well, that's your opinion."...............A conversation between my teacher and I.

It was the middle of the night when there was an urgent knocking at the door. Lethero got up and walked over to the door. It was Dresko in his wolf form. "What is it that you have to get me up on my break?" Lethero asked.

"It's the humans," Dresko said urgently, "they found prints leading to our tunnels."

"Dammit, alert the Black and the other pack leaders, I'll get the rest of our pack together, we must dtop them."

Black was abruptly awoken by the sound of pounding. She rolled over under Bluebarrels arm. He groaned, tried to lift himself from the bed but failed miserably. Black shook his arm off and sat on the bed, rubbing sleep away.

"Stay." she told him.

He gratefully slumped into the pillow with a sigh. Black walked through the halls to the door. The banging continued. She growled at the door and swung it open. The inward door opened and Dresko stood with his arm suspended, about to knock again.

He grinned sloppily and lowered his hand, "The humans have arrived. Soon they'll be outside the tunnel, Keski and her pack are up there too."

Black let out a yell of frustration.

"Get the wall concealed and defended."

Lethero was at the tunnel entrance. "Ok we need this tunnel conceled. We need Black here, where is she."

"Right here," Black said running over. "Got your key ready?" Lethero nodded, holding up the neckalce. "Ok let's get this done with."

Lethero and Black went to two slots in the wall. "Ok, three, two, one." They both pushed their keys into the slots at the sametime. "Enter the code, now."

When the codes were entered, a grinding noise as a cement wall slowly closed over the entrance to the tunnel.

Black put her key back into her shirt. She surveyed the crowd of their own, apparently Kail led Keskis pack to a different tunnel where they could leave when they wanted.

"Ok I need," she counted off the members that were good for the job, "Redwing, Sting, Metalclaw, and Rainrock. We need to haul to get some fake tracks down and leading to the city. Bluebarrel and Lethero are in charge. Let's go!"

The wolves she named stepped forward into the clearing. They each nodded and ran out a side tunnel. Black nodded to Lethero who nodded back. He barked guard positions to the packs. Black turned were and sped off with the others.

Making the fake tracks wasn't very easy. Black and her followers had to run over the track a few times to get it to look like many had crossed but they succeeded. Black and the group slunk back to the second entrance, keeping careful of their claws and force. When they made it into the cave Black thanked each of them, looked around, and went in herself.

Lethero trotted up to Black, "Everything alright?" He drew himself up while turning human.

Black also turned human, "Very well. The track leads to a part of the city where it seems we could get in. They're probably following it right now."

Black spotted a small glimpse of blonde before she was viciously attacked... in the leg.

"Mommy! Mommy! Where didju go? Daddy looked sad." Yellowluna clung to Blacks leg and looked up at her with big eyes. Black smiled, detached Luna from her leg, and swung her up into her arms.

"I just went for a run with some of the pack."

Luna looked puzzled as she wrinkled her nose but literally shook it off. She turned around and saw Bluebarrel approaching. Black smiled and walked to him with Luna.

Sev couldn't sleep he was tossing and turning. He looked at his clock and it was reading 11:30. He rolled back over disgusted. He thought he heard some noise down the tunnel but dismissed it. Still, he was restless so he decided to take a walk. Being careful not to wake Scout, he quietly walked out of the house while strapping his bow and arrows onto his back. He turned into his wolf form and walked. He saw Black heading his way with Luna and Bluebarrel.
"Hey, what's going on?" Sev asked Black as she walked by.
"Humans. They've found this city," she replied.
"So...does that mean we have to move?"
"I don't know. Maybe. It's a good we travel light because if we have to, we'll need to move fast," Black said.
"Well that doesn't explain the noise," Sev said crossing his arms.
"We had to make fake tracks and post guards. The whole nine yards," Black replied setting Luna down.
"So, I was thinking, I've always wanted to ride a TaunTaun."

It's easier to come up with new stories than it is to finish the ones you already have. I think every author would feel that way.
