We're reaching more milestones every day :D

Today we passed 20,000 posts and we also passed 300 registered members. Not bad for a site that's only been around for 3 and a half months!

We all know that it's because I joined, and, well, for obvious reasons, people flock to see my prophetic chicken scratch. :wallows in narcissistic pleasure:

Oh...wait...I guess I can't be 300 users...hm...this could be problematic...

Wow it seems like just yesterday I came here and one of the most recent topics was "I made the 1000th post." And I was member number 52.

100?

Or 10,000?

I think the reason that we've gone up that many points IS because of "Writing Activities". I mean, 1 word posts are made for a 52 page thread. 52 x 12 = 624. And theres 3 threads like that. 624 x 3 = 1872. Thats almost 1/10 already. Whoo...I didn't even know it was that big. Whoever invented calculators, thank god...But thats not all a bad thing, so everyone say YAY!

YAY!

The writing activities forum is in some part responsible for the more than 20,000 posts number, but the writing activities forum is also only responsible for 13.9% of all posts. By comparison, the literary forums together account for about 25% of all posts.

Also, it is important to compare YWS to other young writers forums. Young Writers Guild is another large one (one that we are rapidly gaining on), and only 15.9% of all posts were made in literary forums. Over at the Young Fantasy Writers, a mere 6% of posts were made in literary forums.

And, if you take into account just the one word posts in the writing activities forum, such posts only make up 12.9% of all posts.

So in the end, the writing activities is responsible for a number of posts, but by no means even close to most. The category with the largest share is of course the General Discussion Forums, which is expected, and it only accounts for 40.9% of all posts, which is a surprisingly low number.

20,000 posts is pretty awesome :D I must say that this is the best web-site for writers I have come across so far and it's no wonder people like to post so much.

Wow...only 40% of the posts are made in Generel Discussion? That is pretty low. In YFW about, what, 80% of the posts are made in Generel Discussion, even more in fact.

No one really bothers with the other topics on YFW. It's always been that way. Wow, we already have 20,000 posts? Not hard to believe, actually. Considering how many of us there are. I have to say, tho, that this is the most successful site I'm a member of. :D

It suddenly struck me that that tiny pea, pretty and blue, was the Earth. I put up my thumb and shut one eye, and my thumb blotted out the planet Earth. I didn't feel like a giant. I felt very, very small.
