Fantasy RPG - The Virus

I can't believe there's another site with storybooks! I might just bring some of my friends at TYWC across and yes, the site still lives on and shall as long as there are members =)

Anyway, as for the storyline... In an alternative reality there are five species living on planet Earth. There are the pixies, the elves, the shapeshifters, the humans and the goblins. Recently, an unknown virus has taken root in the atmosphere. This virus immediately takes effect, weakening it's victims until they barely have the strength to do such mundane tasks as eat and drink. The virus has yet to take any life but doctors estimate that it will act slowly and there may still be a month to find a cure. This virus affects the old and young alike, men and women alike and very few have escaped it's clutches but some do appear to be immune to the deadly disease. These few must now set out on a treacherous adventure to discover the cure and as in any traditional quest, there are those who wish to stop them. The creators of the disease, a group of alien life forms who intend to claim this planet for their own, have the only known cure to the disease in their possession.

Now for the characters -

Elves - Elves tend to be tall, pale skinned and have either dark or fair hair. Elves are stealthy, quick and good with the bow or short knife. They are generally a happy, good natured race but in contrast to the traditional belief, they live in towns and villages as do all the other inhabitants of Earth.

Pixies - Pixies usually have darker skin than the average elf with red or chestnut hair and the usual range of eye colours but less than average human height. They are very mischevious and often optimistic. They also have the ability to walk through walls, objects etc but have little expertise in any weapon other than the dagger and are easily bruised and cut.

Goblins - Goblins are also small and have green or purple skin with dark hair. They are very strong with expertise in weapons ranging from the axe to the long sword to the scimitar and they have very tough skin but very short tempers and always seem to be in a bad mood.

Humans - I'm pretty sure you all know what they are but just to add that there are no guns in this reality.

Shapeshifters - Shapeshifters resemble the animal they transform into and have similar characteristics to that animal. If hurt extensively in their animal form they revert back to human form.

Aliens - They are demonic creature wrought of black metal and vaguely resemble hmans except that they are larger in all dimensions and they are immune to all diseases. They are stronger than any of the species on Earth and only co-operation will defeat them and even then they may refuse to give up the cure.

A maximum of two characters each please and try to get a range of species and genders though I understand if no one wants to play a human. Here's the bio for my first character but I may add a second as the story advances-

Name= Tigra (Teegra)
Age= 19
Species= Shapeshifter
Animal= Tiger
Hair= Long and midnight black
Eyes= Emerald green, very intense
Complexion= A smooth, flawless tan with few freckles
Figure= Tall and average weight
Personality= Determined, strong willed, sometimes fierce but generally friendly
Family= Mother, father, younger brother (Leo a Lion shapeshifter), all of whom have fallen victim to the disease, and twin sister who is currently healthy. If anyone wants to play her twin, feel free to and she doesn't have to shapeshift into the same animal. In fact it's rare to have two members of one family transform into the same animal, even with twins. If this character is not taken she will remain at home to care for the rest of the family.

Name= Hidena
Age= 18
Species= Crossbreed between human and Goblin. (She looks like a human with a few Goblin features, but what she has most like a Goblin is her temper.)
Description= Long, dark brown hair, almost black. Black eyes that change to brown when she is happy. (They've only been brown once in her life) Her height is about 5 feet 7 inches. She weighs around 105-115 pounds. She has light pale skin.
Personality= Never smiles. Is angered almost too easily. She can be caring but never shows it. Barely speaks unless is yelling.
Family= N/A

Hidena hasn't been affected by the disease. She works on building spaceships and such.

Hidena walked out of Shuttle corp. covered in black smog. She hated it when the ships took off and she got caught in the crossfire. She walked a few minutes to her apartment and took a shower and then went out to eat. She was just too tired to make something. She sat down and didn't see Cartha at the register. She never took a day off.

"Excuse me ma'am. How many will you be eating with?" she asked with a smile that almost made Hidena puke.

"Uh...just me. Where's Cartha?" A frown was on the girl's face.

"She has been affected my the disease."

"Oh...sorry...just me."

"Alrighty then! I'll put you on one of the outside tables. Ok?" Hidena nodded and sat outside. It smelled of Ash outside but the cool night air was calming. She ordered a Coke and some fries. She wasn't very hungry. So she sat and stared out.

Name: Valentina (Val)
Age: 15
Species: Elf/human mix (looks like a very pretty human. lives like humans with her human dad. never met her mom, but has all teh cool talents any elf would)
Description: long, straight, blond hair. silver-blue, depressed eyes. A little taller than the normal human, but not much.
Personality: strongwilled and ready for anything. Is too use to getting her way, but always has a good idea or plan.

"You can't stay here."
"Why not?" Val argued stubbornly. "This is my house, whether my father is alive to live with me or not."
"Yes, but he paid the bills. Now that he's gone, the bills aren't getting paid. You have 2 days to get out of this house. Whatever is left here on Saturday is being burned, along with the house. Good Day Miss."
"Pathetic bastard," Val muttered as she walked back inside.

Name: Serin (Ser-en)
Age: 17
Species: Elf/pixie mix
Description: She is tall as an elf but dark like the pixie. Her eyes are sharp blue and her hair chestnut. Her ears are pointed though she hides them under her hair. She is attaractive.
Personality: Nice but sometimes untrusting, she smiles alot but underneath the smile she is trying to figure out life and what is happening. Her whole family was killed by the virus.

"Come one Miss you know you want to hang out." the drunk man laughed walkin towards her.

"Nope, now leave me be before i slit your throat." She said pulling a dagger out. He backed up a little.

"Ok, no need to be hasety." He hissed walking away.

Tigra

"Okay then I'll look after them and you go search for a cure," I sighed when my twin sister objected to my idea.
"But then we're still split up," Snow sighed. That's one difference between my sister and I. She's very indecisive and not the boldest of people. The other major difference is our looks. Snow is an albino. Her eyes are a celestial blue and her skin as pale as ivory with a fair scattering of black freckles. That's right. Black. They go with her midnight hair, the one thing we have in common other than our weight and height. Well I suppose we share the joint inheritance of being shapeshifters too but her animal is a snow tiger.

"Well there's no way to avoid that. They need looking after and the hospitals are all full. I'll send a letter if anything goes wrong. Take care of yourself Snow," We embraced each other in agreement and then I said my goodbyes to the others. My mother and father were both looking relatively frail but Leo is a strong warrior. He even suggested coming with me but I found a way to satisfy his pride. I told him Snow would need him and with that I left the only home I had ever known and began my quest, my quest to save my family.

On Saturday, she had packed up her few belongings in a backpack and was ready to leave. She didn't though. She waited utnil the last second, until the house was going up in flames, to walk out. She walked out the front, making sure she looked scorched. That'll show those stupid bastards, she thought as they watched her leave the house. How dare they go and burn down my house, and not even let me bury my fathers body. She was mad, and now homeless. There had to be some cure for the disease...she was sure of it. Val would go live with her mother, but the Elvish village was in chaos because of the disease too. With no home to go back to, Val headed for the nearest cafe; she needed coffee.

Hidena sat at her table and fell into deep thought. She thought of everyone dying. Of all those who had died. Of Herself. Why she hadn't gotten it. She's been around it enough. Maybe she was just immune to it. She had tried to sign up to help build for those who were launching rockets to see the aliens. To beg for the antidote. She hated to see the nation beg and she didn't want to help them beg, but it's the only way. She was excellent at building, but they didn't want women's help. Well Screw them! She'd conquere the aliens single handed. Those scum won't know what hit them. She'll make them beg to be killed by the all mighty Hidena! She Would Control them like mutts. She was smiling and laughing in her mind when it was disrupted by a scream. She snapped back to reality. There was a fight outside. Three guys were beating on a girl. She put 10 dollars on the table and jumped over then rail. She grabbed one guy and twisted his arm behind his back until she heard a satisfying Snap! She smiled and he screamed in pain. Another one came at her. She stepped aside and tripped him. He slammed into the ground. She kicked him in the ribs hard. She felt ribs crack under her shoes. The other had grabbed her by the hair. She let out a chuckle. She pulled the knife from her pocket and jabbed it into him. He tumbled over. She turned to the girl who's chest was heaving. She didn't look a day over 16. She couldn't tell how old she was though. A range from 15-17 probably.

"T-t-thank you. You saved me."

Hidena nodded and started to walk away.

"Wait! Who are you?"

"Hidena. I guess I have to ask your name too huh?"

The girl giggled and smiled.

(Anybody can take it away from here )

Val watched the fight from her table outside the cafe. She listened carefully to catch the first girls name, Hidena. It was interesting, very goblin. Val considered going over and introducing herself, but decided against it and slouched lower in her seat. As the two girls walked away, she noticed the bag that the nameless girl had dropped. Val dropped some spare change on the table, picked up her pack, and ran towards the other two.
"You dropped this," she said, handing the girl her bag.
"Oh, that's mine," Hidena said, taking it form her. "Thank you. I'm-"
"Hidena," Val finished for her. "I heard you talking. I'm Valentina, a half elf. Pleasrue to meet you! And you are?" she turned to the other girl.

(haha, i jumped in but there's still that one girl. )

Tigra

I began my search for other people like myself, other people who would help me locate the alien's base on Earth. Nearly the whole town was empty. No one at the shops, curtains closed on all the houses and even the hospital lacked action. There was so little that could be done to fight the virus but even so, none of the survivors there would come with me. Fine. I don't need a pack. I can do it on my own.

As I was attempting to convince myself of this, I passed one of the cafes still in business. Wow. Looks like this is where the survivors go, I thought to myself as I noted three girls heading away from the cafe, chattering amongst themselves. I know it's stupid but my instincts said to follow them and animals always run on their instincts. I followed, keeping my distance and soon realised that none of these girls knew each other well. One was quite tall with pale skin and dark hair, the second was younger but also tall and with straight, blond hair. The third was in between their ages and in between their looks. She too was tall but with dark skin and red-brown hair.

*I think y'all are talkin to me. SOrry it is short. *

"Serin," Serin said looking for her knife, it was gone. "Thanks, I don't think i would've gotten otu of that one."

"Your welcome," Hidena said,

*Well, sorta either of you two*

"Serin? That's a nice name. I see you aren't sick."

"No."

"Me neither. I wish I could do something though. To help, I mean."

Silence

"Woah..." Hidena said suddenly.

"What?"

"I Never talk this much to strangers. What are you?"

*Sorry it's short. Busy Busy Busy*

"Half elf half Pixie." SIren said smiling. She nodded to the others.

"Do you know why they jumped you?" Hidena asked,

"No, that is a mystery." Siren sighed.

Tigra

'What a strange group of girls,' I found myself thinking as I tailed them. Why was the virus so random with who it didn't effect?
"No, that is a mystery," The one with chestnut hair sighed and the others nodded sympathetically.
"So where are you guys heading?" Dark hair queried.
"Not sure," Blond hair replied, "I just lost my home and family so I don't really have anywhere to go."
"Yeah, I lost my family too," Chestnut sighed.

That was when I realised that it was about time I stepped forward.
"Hi there, couldn't help but notice that none of you have been effected by the disease," I greeted them in a rather pathetic manner but I couldn't think of any legitimate reason to be following them. The three girls turned and eyed me with suspicion but I wasn't about to back down there so I hurried to catch up to them and waited for an entrance.
"Was you following us?" The blond asked. Not the entrance I was looking for.
"Uh. Yeah. Sorry about that. I'm Tigra."

"Well, the world being as bad as it is, it's not that bad. By the way, I'm Serin."

"And I'm Valentina. Call me Val."

"You both have lovely name." She turned to Hidena. "And you?"

"Hidena." She said with out any emotion.

There was a long pause. "You gonna tell us what you are?" Hidena asked Tigra.

"Oh. sorry. I'm a shifter."

"Lemme guess. You change into a Tiger." She said sarcasticly.

"Well yeah. You don't got to be such a jerk about it!"

"And you don't gotta yell about it." She said in a mocking tone.

"Calm down you two." Val chimed in. "Oh, hey Hidena, what are you?"

"A monster." She kicked the wall and walked away. It looked like she kicked it hard, but she didn't even flinch.
