If you ever wondered why I hate my real name, well here's your answer.

Awesome clothes
Perfect hair
Flawless makeup
A slender beauty

An entire table
In the cafeteria
Just for her posse

I eat here,
Alone in a corner.
As an outcast,
I despise her,
Yet I envy her.

She would never
Bump into chairs,
Or knock over desks,
Or trip on her own feet.
Not like me.

She's got every guy
Wishing they could have her.
And me?
I have only
An annoying middle-schooler.

And naturally,
She has a voice
So lovely
That I am forced into
This back right corner
Where I shall forever remain.

She is all
A Nicole should be.
What I could never live up to.

I'm not that pretty,
I'll never be skinny.
It seems to me
I'll never be perfect
The way she is.
The way they all are.

WOW!!! That was really good....sometimes I'll read poems with lots of big words and great structure but I'll have no idea what's going on....your poem conveyed lots of emotion...the typical angsts we all face but adults rarely pay attention to....I liked it. I know how you feel.

I have to say that this is fabulous. I think most girls have thought things like this, even if they're name is not Nicole. They look at the popular girls they're age and go, "that's how I'm supposed to be" and then feel horrible. I love the way you wrote this.
