Angie lay on her bed, crying, the same place she'd been for the last two days. Two days since Marty had vanished, and still no sign. She knew the worst must have happened.
She wondered where Kristie was. Angie hadn't seen her since they had had dinner together. The meal had made her feel better. Then she submerged herself in happier times. She remembered Marty's first words, steps, day of school. She remembered her pride on all of those days, and so many more, and her heart pounded.
Angie heard the front door open, and then shut, the hinges squeaking, as they always had. Angie sat up and grabbed a wad of tissues from her bed side table. She wiped her face and put her hands on her lap, breathing deeply, trying to regain her compusure. She looked up as a woman entered her bedroom.
"Angela," she said. "You were missed at our meeting last night. Why did you not attend?"
"I'm sorry," Angie said, not meeting the woman's eyes. I'm mourning a death."
"Mourning who, exactly?" Terror stole through kristie as she remembered the sacred rules of the Sisters. What she had done would constitute death, and no less. Her eyes widened as she looked up at Emma, the woman who had been her guide over the last years. Emma's eyes narrowed and she galred. "Mourning who?"
Angie cried out as she began to lift off the bed. She stared at the other woman in shock. Angie continued to rise until her feet strained to touch her bed. She swam forwards through the air and grabbed Emma's shoulders, intending to pull herself down. Instead, she felt a wave of resistance radiate from her and she was flung towards the wall.
Emma raised a hand and Angie stopped, just before the wall. She breathed a sigh of relief, but grew afraid once more as Emma began to talk.
"Now, are you going to co-operate, or will we have to -- experiment? I do wonder how long you would take to break under pressure. how well have I trained you? But-"
"My son," Angie said, and sobbed.
I"m sorry, what was that? I couldn't hear. Did you just say what I think you did?" Emma grinned at her.
"My son," Angie yelled. I had him before I even became a sister. I'm sorry, I knew the rules, but I was a single mother. I needed to feel power. And now Marty's gone. Me and Kristie couldn't find him, but-"
"Wait," Emma said, her terrible demeanour seeming to vanish. "You know Kristie?"
"Yeah, we're friends. She helped me look for Marty." She paused, and cocked her head. "But, how do you know her?
"Yes, unfortunately. Kristie is well known to us. You could say we are old friends." Emma stopped to think. "Tell me the whole story." At that, Angie dropped onto her bed with a thud. She landed awkwardly and was winded for a few seconds, but soon began to talk.
Emma listened to the story, unresponsive while Angie detailed the events until Ray went missing. When Angie told Emma of how Kristie took her tp the house for dinner, Emma gasped. "I may have underestimated her," she said.
"Huh?" Angie said, and Emma merely replied "I'll explain later. For now, it is crucial that you take me to her house. I take it that you know where it is?"
Angie nodded, and Emma saw the confusion on her face. "Everything in due time. You are forgiven, for now." Emma led the woman to Angie's car, and got in the driver's side. The two began the drive to Kristie's house.
Yeah, so I had no idea what to rate this. I don't think anything really happens lol, but oh well. It shold be fairly typo free, been through a couple of spell checks. Anyways... enjoy lol.
