Writing or typing?

I find it easier to handwrite my stories before typing them up. I can change things easier and i don't have to worry about typos. Sometimes i just do a storyboard but i think that writing it out is a lot easier.

What do you think?

I normally type up the entire story/chapter(depends how lazy i'm feeling), but when I find something interesting in a book or inspiration strikes, I scribble it down to be tweaked a bit later.

I agree that it's easier to find mistakes when you handwrite them. I prefer handwriting for a different reason, though. Often, I'm away from computers. Maybe I'm on a camping trip. Or, maybe I'm just at my low-level school.

I write by hand and then type it all into Word, by the time I get around to saving it I've added a whole page of stuff that wasn't supposed to be there. I like both ways really.

I have multiple personalities. Sometimes I handwrite it, because of the convienience and what not, but sometimes I type it just because it looks like I've accomplished more. either way, I'm not fussed.

I have a little black book that I do my writing in then when I get time I type it up on Word. But I normally end up adding to it as I type.

Currently the only writing I do is in Creative Writing class and that's by hand. If you could only see how my writing style changes from paper to screen you'd be amazed.

My thoughts come out far faster through a keyboard than a pen and my frustration shows with the horribly quality of my handwriting.
But as soon as I get down to typing it up, it suddenly is much better. In short, I prefer typing my work but handwriting will do in a pinch

Depends on what I'm working on and where I am at the time.

For my Chronicles story, I was writing it by hand first and I would type it up every few pages or so. I was almost at 100 hand written pages.

For this current project, I'm going back and forth. It's depending on whether or not I can think of anything to write (I'm kind of having trouble just like...starting, and then continuing o.O), and what I'm doing at the time. I've been trying to do some writing while in class -whistle- but outside of what I wrote yesterday, I haven't had a lot coming to me. I think I might try mainly writing it on the computer and then I'll continue it on paper and type whatever I write up. Since I have a laptop that's SUPPOSED to mainly be for writing (>.> having the 'net connection on it isn't always a good thing because of easy distractions), I can easily use that as what I mainly type it on.

My handwriting's super loopy and girly, and as Snoink has so kindly told me...I write like a man. Ergo, it's really hard to write anything with any redeeming qualities whatsoever when I can't look at my handwriting without giggling and painting my nails.

...besides, I type a bajillion (yes, really) words per minute, compared to two per year on paper.

I usually type. I'll handwrite something if it comes to me at school, but my handwriting is very strange - it's very small and has a weird, cursive tilt to it. I prefer to type. I find it so much easier, and then I don't lose anything.

I do that to. Mainly i type up what i have written but add bits as i go along.

I have to write it out by hand first! As soon as I sit in front of a computer screen and there's that big blank white page infront of me I just switch off. Paper has lines, so there's something there to work with.

I have really tiny scrawly handwriting that's sometimes hard for me to translate, but when you've filled a whole notebook with your own written words? Ah, I love that feeling ^^ But I have to write in pencil, pen feels to permenant.

I sometimes type things up afterweard if I have the time, or can get on the computer, and they usually end up better for it.

I prefer to write my stories on a word processor on the computer. However, if inspiration strikes at the wrong moment I always carry a notepad or a notebook and a pen to scribble it down. Usually, what I write in my notebook is changed quite a lot. I'm a faster typist than a handwriter, so I prefer to get my ideas down as quickly as possible.

Heh, ever since I got my laptop, it's all typing for me!
But, it used to be all handwritten. Before I got my laptop I would only type short stories, and mostly that would begin at my dad's office after school, then I'd transfer it over to our home cpu; I only did three stories this way, though. The problem with it is that my bros would whine about me hogging the cpu, and all they wanted to do was play computer games. Which is more important, I ask you?!
Anyway, the novel I've been working on since I was in seventh grade has undergone two handwritten drafts; the first one ended somewhere in the four hundreds before it got to the point where I'd go back, read the beginning when I was just introducing myself to the writing world, and not know whether to laugh or cry.
Then I got a new notebook and started again, and it's up to 519 pages.
heh but then I got distracted with the Hexachord stories, which I'll probably post for review. So I've decided I'm going to finish the Hexachord ones and then start typing my novel and do some serious revision.
I think it's so much clearer when I see it on the computer screen, all typed and regular; that's probably because I now see it as it would look as a printed novel, the way someone would read it, and everything has to be that much clearer. It gives me a better perspective, I think, and it's so much easier to revise if I decide I don't like whole pages of it. *select, delete, begin again and it makes its own room!*
But then again, a notebook has its own magic; it's so much more personal, and I don't know about you guys, but I carry the one with my novel in it wherever I go, in the same bag as my laptop.

I always write and then if it's good I type it in Ms-Word. I don't thhink i can ever type out a piece of writing directly, although, it would be good.
and anyway, handwritten things have a charm of their own, when you find something you wrote 5 years back, it's nice to note then your scribble.
