Chapter 18
-Accidental confession

Jamie jumped back a few steps as a conscious gleam entered Richard's eyes, her mom still hadn't moved and was sitting in the middle of the room, staring intently at Richard. Maybe hoping that if she looked hard enough he would disappear. Jamie had tried as much before, it never worked.

“You've got a lotta 'splaining to do,” Richard slurred, raising his voice to the
recognizable anger they were so used to.

Jamie spared a look at her mom, sitting helplessly frozen on the floor, unable to hide the fear in her eyes, the panic on her face. Finally she was realizing things.

Quick as she could on her shaking legs Jamie walked out the door to her

room, stopping before leaving.

“Your business is with me,” she said.

“Bet your ass it is,” he said, pushing himself onto his elbows using the wall
to stand back up.

Jamie backed up into the hall, Richard staggered behind her, keeping on
hand pressed firmly up against the wall for support.

“Stop moving Bitch,” he said weakly, stumbling over a shoelace and almost
falling.

“No,” Jamie said, continuing to back up.

“I said..stop...” Richard was losing his element of fear in this state.

“And I said, no.” Jamie said firmly.

“You little bitch, shut the fuck up and come here now!” Richard stopped
moving. Jamie continued backing up slowly, making her way toward the
stairs preparing to get him as far away from her mom as possible.

“Fine then,” Richard turned around and started taking small steps back to
the room.

“No!” Jamie said, Richard ignored her and continued.

“Stop,” she yelled, jogging up to him and shoving him lightly on the
shoulder, not enough for him to fall, but just enough to make him pissed.

He spun around in place, his arm flying up hitting Jamie's cheek with all the
momentum from his body. She stumbled backward, falling to the floor on
her back.

“Just where I wanted you, Bitch,” Richard said, dropping to his hands and
knees and crawling toward her. She scrambled backwards with her back still
facing the ground, her back hit something solid, rolling it backwards a few
feet. Jamie spared a look back and saw the chair from earlier laying in what
seemed to be a ray of light.

Her movements were faster now, Richard still managed to keep up driven
by anger and desire. She reached the chair with moments to spare before it
was too late. She turned her body, taking the chair by the legs in her hands
and swinging her body, letting the momentum grow just as it had with
Richards slap.

He was hit with a loud crack, the chair landing just behind his neck, hitting
the entirety of his back and pushing him to the ground.

Jamie scrambled up and ran to her room as fast as she could, her mom
was sitting in the same spot, still staring intently at the spot where Richard
had been minutes earlier.

“Mom,” Jamie said, crouching at eye level with her, “get out of here,
quickly.”

“I can't do it Jamie,” her mom said.

“Yes you can, take my keys, get the police,” Jamie pushed her keys into her mothers limp hands.

“No, I meant, I can't stand up against him. What if he hates me?”

“We don't have time, just get the police, we'll talk later okay. Please trust me.”

“You're such a good kid Honey. I'm sorry I couldn't do more for you,” her
mom's hands tightened around the keys and Jamie pulled her to her feet.

“Just go, that's all I need.”

They both rushed out of the room, Jamie's mom heading toward the stairs
behind Jamie, who was the bumper between her and Richard.

He was on the floor, pressing on hand to his back whimpering, more in
drunkenness than in pain.

“Good luck Honey, I love you.” Jamie's mom pulled Jamie toward her and
laid a small kiss on her forehead.

“I love you too.”

Jamie's mom jogged down the stairs and finally out the door.

Richard yowled in anger at Jamie's side, making her jump.

“Bitch!” he spat at her, rolling over and standing up.

“Fuck you,” Jamie glared at him, still out of his reach.

“Say that again,” he had one hand on the banister that overlooked the area by the stairs, a small section of floor that was hardwood as opposed to carpet.

“Fuck you.”

Richard lunged weakly at Jamie, who jumped to the side just before hitting her, he fell to the ground again, letting out another anguished yowl. He jumped up with enough speed to catch Jamie by surprise and pin her to the wall. She let out a loud scream.

“Shut the fuck up bitch,” Richard said, she did.

He pressed his mouth against hers, she tried to wiggle out of his steel grasp, to no avail.

“Why do you have to be so deliciously feisty?” Richard asked, pressing himself harder against her, pressing her back painfully into the wall.

“Let go of me,” Jamie said, her voice gradually growing weaker and more passive as her body began to shut down her emotions.

“You can't stop me,” Richard said, one hand starting to travel, “and I don't think you really want to, do you?”

Jamie was screaming on the inside, but her brain denied her wishes and allowed nothing but silence.

“Just as I thought,” Richard kissed her again.

No. Jamie's heart called out to her brain.

Never again.

“I won't allow it.”

She said the last part out loud, mid kiss.

Richard pulled back, “I said, quiet.” he pressed his mouth to hers once more, this time her brain listened to her, finally grasping her fury as she bit down on his lip. He pulled back, one hand moving up to his now bleeding mouth.

“Bitch!” he said through a large swollen lip, his hand coming away with blood. He raised a hand, pulling it back, everything was in slow motion again. Except for Jamie.

She reached out with her own arm before her thoughts, catching his arm.

“No.” She said firmly, catching his other arm as it flinched back.

“Never again.”

She pushed him back with all her might, sending him catapulting into the banister. At first she thought it would break, she never expected him to flip over it.

There was no time for him to yell as he fell to the hardwood below, landing first on his back, his head cracking a fraction of a second later.

Jamie gasped, backing up the wall to shocked to scream, to shocked to move. She stood like this, mouth open, eyes wild for quite some time before she unfroze from her trance taking a hesitant step forward.
She reached the banister, flicking her eyes down and back, only allowing herself to catch a glance of red.

She took the stairs slowly, one shaking step after another. She reached the ground floor without looking, without so much as breathing.

Finally she had no choice, she turned to face what she had done. Her father was laying, soaked to his shoulders in blood. His eyes were closed, unmoving, a finger twitched.

Jamie dropped to her knees, landing in the slippery puddle, some of it splattering up to her shirt. Her father was in reach, she allowed her fingers to brush against his hair, they came away bright red, tinged with blood.
“Jamie?”

She looked up, her mother was standing not three steps in the living room.
Jamie dropped her gaze quickly, back to where it had been before, at her fathers unmoving figure. Except for the twitch.

“I did this,” Jamie admitted quietly, looking up again, now meeting the gaze of the two police officers now standing there.

Both of them had odd expressions, was it sadness, pity, astonishment, all of the above?

All Jamie knew was that the room was silenced with shock.

A man lying on his back, soaked in red, a young girl, wide eyed and shaking splattered with it kneeling near him. A mother falling to the ground. And a tear mixing with the blood.

“I won't allow it.”
This sounds too adult, It's say "I won't let you"

Mentioning the nice, hard wood floor below gives it away too easily. Don't tell us that. I already knew he was going to fall.

Say "red" less, and instead, say blood, exactly like it is.

I don't think she'd be so upset with what she did...I'd see her being happier.
Always exciting ^_^

She would be happy, if she had meant to hurt him, instead of just get him off of her. Maybe I should make that clearer....
