This is the lyrics...sort of...to a song...sort of...that I found on my computer desk top. They're kind of funny, so I thought I'd give them a try. There are a couple of awkward rhymes in there...ideas are appreciated!
This is a song of beauty and pain
Of gaining and losing; of soft falling rain
A tale of woe; yet a tale of joy
A song about which no one complains
A song passed down through all the years
To grandpa's eyes it always brought tears
To my dad when he was but a little boy
To me, now, it comes to assuage my fears
Chorus:
This is a song of courage
A song of bravery
A story of a lord and lady
And adventures fine and bold
And this tale of courage
And this tale of bravery
As everybody will tell you
Almost never grows old
No, it almost never grows old.
A tale of beauty; a warm summers' night
A tale of spring, with flowers so bright
And even in autumn with nighttime so cold
This story sheds its' adventurous light.
A tale of hardship that savagely tears
At hearts young and bold, at hearts aged with years
Yes, even in winter does this tale unfold
And a cobwebby mind it easily clears
Chorus
And now, you say, get on with it, you cry!
We've heard enough and from impatience die!
I beg of you, please don't do that sort of thing
And now I desert melody, rhyme and meter altogether
To tell you that very regrettably for all of us,
No matter how wonderful and great and beautiful this song is
You will never hear it because I, quite simply,
Don't know the words.
Sorry!
