Nate is the captain of the football team, living up to every cliché as he is tall, broadshouldered and not doing all that well in school. Has a secret interest in poetry which he reads and write at night when everyone else is asleep. When he reaches the age of college, he decides to give up his football scholarship to pursue his dream of becoming a poet. Unfortunately for Nate, the poetry is foul. He decides to jump of a cliff, desperately wanting to make a gracious exit from this world. He wants to bellow a poem as he jumps, but has a frog in his throat and jumps to his death with meaningless grunts as his last words. Poor Nate.
