lol, I was wondering if anybody noticed...

The statistics page was taken away because it was slowing down the rest of the site. Essentially, the statistics page was a compilation of programs that were constantly checking the site for updated material and running algorithms every hour. Take the top 10 words for instance; every hour, that program went through the entire database, checked through all the words, and then counted up each time a word showed up. This slowed down the site, so I decided to get rid of it. I miss it though because I liked seeing which styles were being used, how many members signed up each month, and so on.

I still have the simple stats though. Here's a list of where we stand right now:

14517 posts
159.76 posts per day
1241 topics
13.66 topics per day
227 users
2.50 users per day
Database size: 24.56 MB

The statistics page was in the link menu. On the old site, there was even a link to it at the very top of the page.

247 registered users now :)

Looks like Brad's prediction of 260 may turn out to be too low...

Anyways, it may be interesting to turn this into a contest every month with no predictions being accepted after the third of the month. The winner would recieve... 100 points?

Yeah, but would you have to pay points to enter. Like 25 or something? Maybe less....yes, less...

Nah, you wouldn't have to pay points to enter.

Anyways, we just hit 260! Actually, it says 261 registered users, but one of those is a test account I created so that one doesn't really count. We started off February with 181 users, so we've gained 79 new members so far this month :D

Pretty soon I'll create a Monthly Predictions Contest thread in the Contests forum.

Wow, I remember when this site only had two users and every single post was Nate babbling about rules and how much he likes riddles.

I bet YWS will have 2,000 users by the end of the year. Of course, from what Nate's told me, if that happens, he may be forced to shut the site down due to lack of funds.
