closed spaces / flies
daydream everything
get in the window
phantom cliff / sludge steep
crowded out / all my faults

people's eyes / onion roots
my brain half-torn
moral play

blocking out noise
shame / unreality
think less.
more stargazing.

An Island

People get stranded in me
if they spend too long here,
feed the rich oak trees
shielded from the world by hanging plant growth.

That is why they run,
stumbling down rocky steps
clambering for their boats
and the briny sea.

I watch them go,
my forest-heart grows darker,
the soil and humus
teeming with worms.

I am growing towards the moon,
looking down with its gibbous cheek,
as I unfurl in verdant leaves
and red blossoms

violently alive.

bye bye academic life

Content warning: themes of death and dying, 'existential'

Spoiler
too tired to get home
back home to no WiFi
drag myself home somehow
before i get too sick to do so.
no one is there to save me
but that means i have free will

my hands hurt
dehydrated
the grim reaper
through my window

i could have led a good life
and done something.
all ive done is eat a banana
i drank milk and had cheese
trying not to get killed
without thinking about the consequences

im so exhausted i think i could die
havent successfully diagnosed
feminism or govt
doing very little to help
nowadays mostly just
a gastrointestinal ordeal

noise outside my room
broke up the ethical rhythm
and off ill go to apples in hell
and say hey i need you

and i think im just going
to be born in this time period.
