2026 Exquisite Corpse Poetry

EXQUISITE CORPSE POETRY The Exquisite Corpse is a method where a collection of words or images is collectively assembled. Each collaborator adds to a composition in sequence, but they are only allowed to see the final scrap of what the previous person had created. For those who haven't participated in something like this before, it is very simple! One person starts by writing a few lines of a poem. Then, only knowing the last line, the next person has to continue. Since you don’t know what the poem is about, you can't "ruin" it. If you wish to participate, just reply below! Please PM me between 2-4 lines of poetry . There is no "theme" of sorts, but make sure to keep everything YWS-appropriate. When the first round deadline is over, you'll receive a PM from me with the last poetic line of someone else's entry, and it'll be up to you to continue from there. After all the rounds have been completed, I'll post the final products here! DEADLINES Times are adjusted to your local time zone! So many striking turns of phrases here!

Some of my fave poems - 10, 13, 16, & 17!! This was so fun to be a part of and the results are stunning! Ahhh! Thank you for hosting @cocteau and thank you to all the participants!
