behind closed doors, the wild berries bled.
it was a desperate affair; close to
spilling, close to staining. for a million
seconds: no more, no less. on strict
instructions from a girl with a similarly
bleeding heart.
fuck. red blood, white towel.
an unfaithful, god-fearing mind.
a little like a splintered match--
something firelit in darkness.

prenapo poems
-------------

march 24 - untitled

"you have been good to me"--
but perhaps not good enough.
i don't know how you can love this;
this ruiner.

chem! loving your napo thread so far! "mama, why do you tell me my skin used to be pearly white?" really caught my eye. i feel like it's a little bit of a branch off your normal style, but i'm digging it.

"that little girl wears 'pretty' like a blue ribbon."---love the imagery of this line. i also love the comparison of the coffee + milk and the speaker. you tie it all together nicely, especially in the second stanza. can't wait to see what else you have in store this napo!
it is always another hand that guides me.

Sooooo many great lines in these chem!

at the very same time / i said it / so swiftly 'i could dance right now' / and you replied ' and wouldn't it / be a sight'

and

sometimes i want to untangle you / word by word / til i can knit you back together

the formatting of the poems being in a notes-app makes them feel spontaneous and off the cuff and in the moment and like slices of desperate love that is still sorting itself out through the words; there's devotion and contemplation all together. Thanks for writing and sharing!

you should know i am a time traveler &
there is no season as achingly temporary as now
but i have promised to return
