Beware: I will be using sentence case throughout this thread.

I started this fantasy wip during Camp NovMo, and although it may not seem that I have done much with it, I have in fact been very productive! I just did a lot of planning and most of it was in notebooks (counting words in notebooks is PAIN).

So, here's the loose blurb:

From the wreckage of a fire, Laine runs. After that, nothing is clear.

She wakes up, alone, in the woods—having no idea of her family, home, or even her name. Her only solace? A locket she wears, the inscription on which informs her of her name, and the existence of a lost sister.

Wandering into a nearby town gives her no more information—clearly, she's come a long way from any people she might know. But there, she meets a young man who offers to help her find her way home: He's captivated by her, curious, he wants to adventure the farthest lands of Forrise, their home country.

Along the way, she doesn't necessarily find a home, but she pieces together the puzzle of who she might be. And this picture uncovers a role she must play and a mountainous responsibility that she has no idea how to carry.

If you're interested, please do subscribe to the thread and leave your thoughts here as well! Comments are very welcome. I will hopefully be regularly posting updates as I work on this!!

like the stars chase the sun

Too often we crave the extraordinary in life, without even learning how to cherish the ordinary first. Friend, I promise you this: if you can learn to take joy in the simple mundane things in life, the extraordinary will take care of itself, it'll be on its way, hurrying towards you. But if you skip the first part, it'll ever evade you.
