Welcome back to the “Best Line Written Today” thread! This is how it goes: drop your best line from each day you write in the thread, no context needed! (Unless you really want to spill the tea, or if context makes it even better O.o).

  • Feel free to post your best line of the day on your wall as well, using the hashtags #BestLineWrittenToday and #CampNovMo
  • Up to three lines per post! Make it fun, and feel free to comment on others' lines, just be sure to use a spoiler tag to keep everything nice and tidy.

Have a great Camp NovMo!

Best line from today’s writing session:

“Today’s torture: fire-building. Without matches.”
"I've lived a thousand lives and I've loved a thousand loves. I've walked on distance shores and seen the end of time. Because I read."

June 1st best line

I've been officially dead for three days now, which seems like the perfect time to start writing my autobiography.
It's Kay, babe!

"I’d don my apron and teem with an overwhelming sense of purpose and bake a tray of cookies so delicious they’d make me the new Pillsbury Doughboy."
I was born to speak all mirth and no matter.

july 1st best line (shh dont check the time...)

"I closed my workbook for the night and went to sleep. The sleep consisted of 20 minutes of kicking around in frustration, followed by 4 minutes of contemplating my life, then a 3 minute cry session where my pillows got soaked with tears and muffled my cries as I finally fell into hibernation. For an hour and 3 minutes, until the alarm went off again."

July 1st - A quote idea I wrote / not written in draft yet

He reminded her of the moon, except it was never full. Even if she saw him at his brightest, there was a sliver kept away in silence. If he felt something, Daisy wished he’d say it, because now, she felt like a fool for saying anything at all.

@ToastK Okay but now I need context for this line :D My curiosity is piqued.

@SanaPathan Well, there’s a story called “box children” in my portfolio if you want context *wink
Spoiler
but just in case you dont have time to read all of it, which is most likely (and that’s totally fine! Im horrible with keeping up with my own work let alone other ppl lol):

This story is like a battle royal where children mysteriously get kidnapped and sent there by “shadows” and they all have one thing in common: a mysterious box on their heads. This box can’t be removed no matter what they do. Technically, its supposed to follow videogame logic (like curse of bunding in minecraft or a cosmetic add-on you have on your characters) because this world is kind of like a simulation.

(referring to an abandoned house)
“Be careful,” he called out suddenly, “that house may be dead now, but I feel it slowly coming back to life.” He looked at me seriously, a moment of clarity passing through him, then just as quickly it disappeared, and he started laughing.
